Iron Grip: Marauders web strategy game announced
Developer Isotx is an fairly interesting game dev team. The group formed at first to make mods for RTS games like Command and Conquer Generals and Command and Conquer 3. Then they made Iron Grip: The Oppresion, a Half-Life 2 mod that mixed RTS and FPS elements in a "steampunk" type of setting. Then Isotx made the leap to a full stand alone game with Iron Grip: Warlord, another RTS-FPS hybrid which used the Quake III engine as its base and served as the sequel to the Half-Life 2 mod.
Last year the company released Iron Grip: Lords of Atelia, a free-to-play browser-based strategy game set in the same fictional universe as the previous two Iron Grip titles. This week Isotx revealed plans for yet another free-to-play browser based strategy game, Iron Grip: Marauders. Due for launch later in 2010, this game has you playing an airship captain commanding armes. The game will be in full 3D (courtesy of the Unity engine) and will feature single and multiplayer modes. Beta sign ups are expected "soon"
