Hands-on: Heroes Over Europe

For those of you who have attempted to play a realistic flight simulator but have crashed and burned without ever getting your plane off the runway, Transmission Games, the developer of Heroes Over Europe, salutes you. Billed as an arcade flight sim with "action dog-fighting," Heroes Over Europe is for gamers who simply want to fly the unfriendly skies with guns blazing and rockets blasting instead of flying commercial flights from one airport to the next.

Sin City game gets another (unnamed) developer

Small game publisher Red Mile Entertainment got a huge coup when it announced some time ago that it had gotten the game rights to Sin City, the terrific crime comics from writer-artist Frank Miller. At the time the company's in-house dev studio Transmission Games was supposed to be handing the creative duties, using Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3.

Now comes word that Transmission Games is off the Sin City gig due to their work on their upcoming flying action title Heroes Over Europe. Gamespot reports that the Sin City game is now under development at an unnamed publisher but is still scheduled to be released sometime in late 2009.

Heroes Over Europe gets Atari as European publisher; first screenshots

A while back it was announced that Red Mile Entertainment was going to publisher Heroes Over Europe, the sequel to the previously released WWII flying action game Heroes Over The Pacific. Since then there's been little info on the game but this week publisher Atari announced that it would co-publish the title with Red Mile in Europe while also releasing the first screenshots from the game.

Developed once again by Transmission Games (formerly IR Gurus) the press release for Heroes Over Europe claims the sequel will have a brand new graphics engine and new gameplay modes, including multiplayer for up to 16 players. The press release also claims the game will have detailed reproductions of cities like London and Berlin. The title is due out in 2009 but there's no word yet on a US release date.
