Watch Peter Molyneux's son beg for Half-Life 3

Sometimes kids are just so darn cute. Such is the case with the young son of famed game designer Peter Molyneux. While you would think it would be cool to have the creator of Populous, Syndicate and other classic PC game titles, this kid obviously has one game on his mind and oddly enough it's not his dad's upcoming Fable III.

In the above YouTube video we see the kid pretty much beg Valve to release Half-Life 3. Hey, we are all for that happening. Whether its titled Half-Life 3 or Half-Life 2 Episode 3 or whatever Valve wants to title it at this point, this child represents the dream of finally completing Gordon Freeman's saga. So Valve, it's your move.

Rumor: Valve's big E3 2010 surprise is Source Engine 3?

Valve moved quickly to debunk the rumors this past weekend that their E3 2010 "surprise" would be a showing of Half-Life 2: Episode 3. Now a new rumor by VG247.com claims that the surprise could be the first showing of Source Engine 3, the title for the next graphics engine from Valve.

Using an unnamed source, VG247.com claims that Source Engine 3 could be demoed by showing off Half-Life 3 which if true would be another surprise from Valve. It also hints that the reveal could happen during either the Microsoft or Sony E3 press conferences next week. The original Half-Life in 1998 ran on Valve's highly modified Quake 1 engine from id Software. Six years later the 2004 released Half-Life 2 ran on Valve's own in-house Source Engine. It's now six years since Half-Life 2 was released; you can do the math.

BIG Rumor: Half-Life 2 Episode 3 (or maybe Half-Life 3) reveal at E3 2010?

This is one of those stories that we actually hate to report about because, well, we feel kind of forced to at this stage. When Valve announced that their Portal 2 event at E3 2010 was canceled to be replaced by a "surprise" a lot of folks, including us, speculated that the "surprise" might actually be a reveal of the long, long in development Half-Life 2 Episode 3.

While we still think such a reveal might actually be in the works (hey anything is possible) some images have popped up on the interwebs that show the classic lambda symbol with the words "Freeman June 14". The image comes from the Twitter page of the founder of GamerTag Radio but Rock Paper Shotgun (without actually naming its source) has already declared the image to be a fake. However we think that while this could very well be a Photoshop dealie, it's still possible that Half-Life 2 Episode 3 (or maybe even Half-Life 3) could be the surprise and someone outside of Valve is just trying to stir the pot. If that's the case, well, mission accomplished.

Don't expect Gordon Freeman to speak in next Half-Life game

He's one of the most famous PC game characters in history, yet we have never heard Gordon Freeman speak in any of the previously released Half-Life games from developer Valve. And when and/or if Gordon returns in the next Half-Life game don't expect that to change,

Computer and Video Games reports from the latest Edge print magazine that Valve's head man Gabe Newell was asked if they will finally give Gordon a voice he said, "We're not philosophically opposed to this, but we don't have any good reasons to do it." Valve feels it's better to give Gordon's supporting cast more of the spotlight, saying, "Right now making your companions more interesting and compelling seems a more fruitful avenue to explore." Valve hasn't returned directly to the Half-Life series since Half-Life 2 Episode 2 was released back in the fall of 2007.
