Navigate through gravity in Boxgame

It's always interesting to see how different developers interpret gravity, and Boxgame is one of these games. A unity-based browser game, it doesn't do any of the fancy, complex physics that one might associate with the average Unity game. Rather, it focuses on difficult, cerebral puzzles all based around the basic physical mechanic of gravity. And while it is short, and you can play the levels in any order, it's an absolute blast.

Boxgame takes place on platforms surrounding a transparent box. Gravity is determined on the box according the the edge you are on. This allows the player to travel around the box across platforms in search of the door. It's hard to explain, but easy to understand once you start the game. Then toss in color-matching and key-finding, and you've got Boxgame. There's nothing more to the game than this simple puzzle-platforming, so give it a try!

Dragon Nest MMO announced

New MMO announcements continue to be made with a great deal of frequency. Today a new development team based in Korea called Eyedentity has revealed its presence and announced their first fantasy MMO called Dragon Nest. The dev team consists of former members of NCsoft, Webzen, Gravity and other Korean based publishers and are creating Dragon Nest using their own in-house graphics engine.

The game itselft sounds like it will be more of an action title with a colorful art style. The press release announcing the game sound like it will have some Diablo elements such as random generating dungeons and random spawning monsters. Dragon Nest is due to be beta tested in Korea in late 2008 with a worldwide release (including North America) in 2009.

Requiem: Bloodymare enters open beta

In much the same vein as the Megami Tensei RPG series, Requiem: Bloodymare is meant to be a horror-fueled post-apocalyptic look at demons and technology. With its massive amounts of gore and giblet physics, Bloodymare definitely sets itself apart, at least graphically, from the horde of World of Warcraft lookalikes.

For those antsy to dip their hands into the gallons of blood present in Bloodymare, good news for you. The game has entered open beta, allowing anyone to sign up and play the full game for free. While the game will be free later on, it won't have all content available to those playing it for free once it hits the release version. So give it a whirl now! You can sign up for and download the beta at the official site.
