Earlier this year we reported that
Electronic Arts had plans to release
a second game based on the Godfather crime movie series, even though their first attempt to do so got mostly average reviews and sales. This week, EA CEO John Riccitiello stated that the game could be coming out sooner than expected; sometime in late 2008 or early 2009.
Riccitiello made these remarks during his address to the EA annual stockholder meeting (you can listen to the repeat at the EA investors web site), saying the second
Godfather game was due out a few months after the release of Valve's zombie shooter
Left 4 Dead. It's been reported that this second Godfather game will be a mix of action with some RTS elements. So far EA has not sent out an actual press release announcing plans for a second game.
