Dead Space 2 multiplayer info coming late on Friday

The first Dead Space game, released in 2008, was strickly a single player experience but that won't be the case for the upcoming sequel. Today it was revealed that the first info on Dead Space 2's multiplayer features will be coming late on Friday.

As with other big game reveals, the secrets behind the multiplayer modes for Electronic Arts' sci-fi survival horror sequel will come from Spike TV's GameTrailers show to be shown at 12:30 am Friday night (or Saturday morning if you want to be technical). Dead Space 2, from developer Visceral Games, is currrently due for release on January 25, 2011.

More BioShock 2 secrets to be revealed soon

It's been a little while since we have heard any real concrete news on BioShock 2. Sure there are all those viral marketing campaigns but aside from that there's been nothing major on the first person shooter sequel since publisher 2K Games showed the title to the press at E3. That may be changing this week as GameTrailersTV is planning to have a BioShock 2 heavy episode early Friday morning.

The show's host Geoff Keighley reveals in a new Twitter post that we will see "Lots of new single player info and footage! You'll meet new characters too...." Apparently one of those new characters is now in charge of the art-deco designed underwater city of Rapture. Hmmmmmm.

LucasArts Steam game announcement coming early Friday

We've already mentioned that LucasArts will have a big reveal of their next original game in just a few hours on GameTrailers TV but that's not all the news they will be revealing on the Spike TV-based show. According to yet another "tweet" from the show's host Geoff Keighley LucasArts will have another announcement related to its Steam game download deal as well.

LucasArts made a number of its classic PC games available via Steam just a couple of months ago (they later appeared on Direct2Drive) and just a few days ago they released Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic as a PAX 2009 promotion via Steam and Direct2Drive.GameTrailers TV appears on Spike TV tonight at 12:30 am ET.

LucasArts to reveal all-new game early on Friday

LucasArts has mostly been concentrating on its own franchises for a little while with upcoming games like Star Wars: The Old Republic and others. But they have some original game plans in the works as well and one of them is slated to be revealed early on Friday morning.

That's when Spike TV's GameTrailersTV will have the first word and first footage of the currently unannounced game, according to a "tweet" from its host Geoff Keighley. The show starts at 12:30 am ET on Friday on Spike. In another "tweet" Keighley states, "There are lots of other surprises in this week's show from LucasArts. We haven't announced it all yet."

Spike TV serves up Hollywood babes for E3 2009 special

E3 2009 is returning (almost) to its larger trade show roots and that will definately include the return of the booth babes to the exhibit hall area. Spike TV knows this as well and for its upcoming Gametrailers.TV pre-E3 2009 special they are breaking out not one but two Hollywood actresses-babes.

Rose McGowan, who is handling the voice for one of the characters in the just released Terminator: Salvation, is being promoted as the co-host (with Geoff Keighley) of the special and Number Six herself Tricia Helfer also will make an appearance (no word as to why yet). The special itself was taped outside E3's venue (the LA Convention Center) and Spike TV states it will have a number of "exclusives" including new gameplay footage from Mass Effect 2, Dragon Age: Origins, Aliens Vs Predator and more. The special will be shown on Spike TV at 11 pm on Thursday and of course will be posted on Gametrailers.TV afterwards.

Trailer for BioWare's Dragon Age: Origins emerges

A short CGI trailer for BioWare's PC exclusive Dragon Age: Origins (formerly just Dragon Age) premiered this past weekend. You can watch the trailer exclusively (for now) at GameTrailers. Don't expect to be very impressed, though. There are no indications as to what the game is actually about, in terms of either story or gameplay. And really, could this fantasy motif possibly be more generic? There's no hook at all.

Still, it's a PC exclusive, and we don't get enough of those these days. Hardcore BioWare fans will likely go for anything they can get. We hope the game will make up for its uninspiring setting with its world building and community options.

New Dead Space videos have a Resident Evil 4-in-space vibe

GameTrailers is hosting some exclusive Dead Space videos from EA3, an Electronic Arts media event. There are several showroom floor gameplay videos, and one video interview with Executive Producer Glen Schofield. In the interview (embedded above), Schofield talks about the dismemberment system, realistic zero gravity gameplay, what sorts of characters you'll meet in the game, and the many, many kinds of deaths your character can experience.

The gameplay stuff is the real meat of it all, though. We've embedded one of those videos behind the break. You'll see some extremely intense encounters, but we think the most interesting bit is the zero gravity stuff. It reminds us of the mind-screwing final sequence of Danny Boyle's Sunshine. Give it a look. If you're a Survival Horror aficionado, it's worth it.

New gameplay videos coincide with Alone in the Dark release

The game that reboots the Alone in the Dark franchise hit retail shelves in Europe on Friday. It will release in North America on Tuesday. The reviews are trickling in, and so far it sounds like the game is a work of flawed genius. But reviews aren't the only harbingers of the the imminent release; a new trailer and three gameplay videos hit the web over the weekend as well.

The trailer (embedded above) is long and epic. It shows off some of the game's spectacular production values. The three gameplay videos are very distinct. One shows melee combat and fire, another depicts the act of jacking a car and driving through a collapsing garage, and another still demonstrates some Prince of Persia-style ledge shuffling and platforming.

Call of Duty: World at War footage to be unveiled Friday

We've already seen some screenshots of Treyarch's Call of Duty 5 -- err, Call of Duty: World at War. You might be wondering "where's the footage" though, right? You can't judge a game by a video, it's true, but you surely can get a better sense with a video than with still images.

Well, it turns out the wait will be a short one. GameTrailers TV -- which first airs on the Spike TV cable channel, and later appears at www.gametrailers.com -- will debut World at War footage during this Friday's episode. The show airs at 1:00 AM EST (so, for many people, we suppose it'll technically be Saturday, but whatev). Check it out if you have any interest.

Better yet, just wait for it to pop up online. Let's face it -- this is a World War II shooter. It's hard to get excited about those anymore, no matter how much "reinvention" is promised. The modern desert setting is getting just as tired, though, so ... what next?
