Pre-order specials revealed for Blur

It's not often that the PC version of a multi-platform title gets to share pre-order specials but the upcoming racing game Blur is an exception. The title, from developer Bizarre Creations and publisher Activision, will let gamers have some extra in-game atvantages if they purchase the game from certain retailers.

If you buy the game ahead of time at GameStop you will gain access to the Ford Bronco in multplayer along with the Survival multiplayer mode. The pre-order bonus will also gain you "Double Fans" for the first 10 multiplayer races. Having more fans means more access to things like power ups, car upgrades at the like.

If you pre-order the game at Game Crazy stores you will gain access to double the normal in-game cash for the game's first three single player races. Finally if you pre-order the game from Best Buy you will be able to gain early multiplayer access to the Dodge Hennessey Viper . . .but only if you pick up the game the day it is released (at the moment that's November 4).

Activision offers up pre-order specials for Prototype

One of the few former Vivendi Games titles to be kept by the merged Activision Blizzard, the open world action game Prototype is due for release this June. Activision is tempting folks to put down some money before its release with some interesting pre-order specials.

Folks who choose GameStop as their choice of retailer can get a special figurine featuring the game's main character Alex Mercer (shown above) plus a two-sided poster that offers up some hints about the game's version of New York City. Hollywood Video/Game Crazy stores are giving out a hardback art book featuring lots of concept artwork on the game, its characters and locations for its Prototype pre-orders. Finally Amazon.com pre-orders will be able to get a special limited edition version of the Prototype comic book from DC Comics' Wildstorm Studios with any pre-order of the game from their site.
