Now that you have done all that there is to do around your home planet, you have one last task in Spore. To explore to the farthest reaches of the galaxy! Navigating is no easy task, however. On your journey you will have to utilize all the advice we have given you. But Earth and the center of the galaxy won't discover themselves. So be a little like Francis Drake, and set out as a pioneer for the future of your civilization.

Now that you've plundered, processed, and parleyed, there's only two more things for you to do. The biggest one, the one that makes your empire run smoothly, makes people happier with you, and is just a general all-around bag of fun, is terraforming and colonization. In the setting of Spore, you are an intrepid new pioneer who fills ecologies with life, making everywhere a better place to live. In a sense, much like how John Smith helped to found and lead the colony at Jamestown, you are helping to found your own colonies in the fertile lands of your own creation!

So you don't want to conquer or buy out your enemies? Well have we got a proposition for you. Diplomacy is right up your alley if things such as outright takeovers put a bad taste in your mouth. Even if you do want to do some nice bombing runs, though, the art of diplomacy in Spore is one that will definitely need to be learned. So whether you are the next Dr. Henry Kissinger or the next Julius Caesar, these are the things that you have to know.

You may choose to annihilate all of your fellow races in Spore, but the alternative is far more sinister than outright genocide. I am referring to the trading mechanics of Space mode, which reflects the Elite-like premise of the mode, just with less depth. However, any dedicated trader can easily accomplish what a gun or tongue oriented player can just by using the power of the almighty Sporebuck!

We promised in our last guide post that we would talk more about Spore's Space mode, thanks to its overwhelming complexity in comparison to the rest of the game. And here we are. The first topic of discussion is the most common thread between all of the stages. The annihilation of all other creatures! However, it's significantly less sinister in Space Stage. You are incorporating wayward empires into your own massive empire! In this way, you are much like Julius Caesar.

You've assimilated all dissenters. Your species is united for the first time in history. What are you to do? Expand to the stars, of course! Spore's Space Stage is easily the most complex part of the game. In fact, each element is so complex that we can't cover all of it in a single guide post! Therefore, the Space portion of this guide is to be spread out all next week to further cover each of the elements. However, we won't leave you hanging. That would be rude! Here's how to make your first steps into space.

You've conquered all the other species in the immediate area and shown the world your dominance of all its inhabitants. You aren't quite there yet, though. A species must come to terms with political divisions within itself before it can make it into space, and that's exactly what you aim to do. Whether by propaganda, force, or just buying out any dissenters, you must unite before you can venture into the depths of space. So get ready to dig into Spore's Civilization Stage!

Now that you have found your first tools in Spore and figured out how to use them, what are you to do? You can continue lazing about in creature mode, wrecking havoc on all who come your way. This can be fun, especially if you decide to take on an Epic. The better alternative, though, is to continue down the path to space-faring sentience! However, upon forming a tribe, the basic gameplay of the game changes significantly, as you are now controlling more than one creature! So for those of you that are confused, we've got you covered.
