GamersGate offers Father's Day weekend deals

It's just a few more days until Father's Day and if you want to get your dad some kind of gift, perhaps you will consider getting him a downloadable PC game title. At least that's what GamersGate is hoping for with some special Father's Day weekend deals on their site.

Beginning today and running through Sunday you can download and purchase the recent open world action game The Godfather 2 for $24.99, a 50 percent cut from its normal price. Also Flock and Warhammer 40,000 Dawn of War Soulstorm are also 50 percent off their normal GamersGate price through Sunday. Also, from now until June 28 you can download and purchase Dark Sector for just $9.99.

Download: Flock! v1.03 Patch

Lots of sales deals on Steam this weekend

For their weekend sales dealie, the Steam PC gaming download service has put a ton of games on sale. Let's get to them:

The racing games Trials 2 and Monster Trucks Nitro have been put in a bundle and are being sold this weekend for just $4.50, an 85 percent cut in their normal price.
Also for this weekend only all 15 games from casual game developer MumboJumbo are on sale for 50 percent off. In fact you can download Luxor 2 and 7 Wonders II for just 99 cents.
Flock, the recent Capcom downloadable game, is on sale for 50 percent off this weekend. A new update has also added 12 Steam achievements to the game.
From now until June 5 you can get Assassins Creed and Splinter Cell: Double Agent for 50 percent off their normal Steam price.
The classic super hero RPGs Freedom Force and Freedom Force Vs The Third Reich (developed by Irrational Games before they turned into 2K Boston) are now available on Steam. You can buy either game or both in a bundle for 10 percent off their normal price.
And remember, Unreal Tournament III can be played for free this weekend and the price of the game and of the Unreal game collection are 50 percent off from now until June 7.

Download: FLOCK! Official Game Soundtrack

This is the official soundtrack to FLOCK!, the casual physics-based puzzle game where players use flying saucers to herd animals back to the mothership (or Motherflocker, as the game calls it). Now you can enjoy the sounds of flocking wherever you go. Capcom and developers Proper Games made the soundtrack available in OGG file format, which requires a codec to be installed in order to play in Windows Media Player or iTunes. We've taken the liberty of converting the files to 320 Kbps MP3 files and offering them as an alternative to installing a codec. The FLOCK! game demo can be downloaded here.

Capcom to sell Flock collectible playset set Thursday

With the full PC version of Flock now available to purchase and download via several outlets today, the game's publisher Capcom is offering an interesting little side item based on the quirky puzzle game. It's a limited edition playset that features the game's mothership and detachable saucer along with pairs of the game's cartoony farm animals (sheep, pigs, chicks and roosters).

The Capcom online store will be the only place you will be able to buy the Flock playset which Capcom says will be available in limited quantities. It goes on sale on Thursday beginning at 3 pm PT (6 pm ET). The price has yet to be announced.

Flock launch trailer herds in

Flock, the game where the player controls a flying saucer to solve puzzles and herd animals to the motherflocker, is out. This trailer reveals the animal herding fun that's available. There's even a 2-player co-op mode. The game can be purchased now for the PC through a number of online retailers.

Blanka makes an appearance in Flock

Flock, the puzzle game where players use a flying saucer to herd and abduct farm animals. What's unexpected is that the Street Fighter character, Blanka, will be making an appearance as a rolling boulder to clear paths and bewilder nearby animals. The game releases today for the PC, tomorrow on Xbox Live and the Playstation 3 the day after.

This week in PC Games: April 6-13

After a bit of a breather, PC gamers get a solid list to choose from in terms of new PC game releases this week:

The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena: Vin Diesel's sci-fi franchise may not be as popular as the Fast and Furious movie franchise but this new game from developer Starbreeze Studios and publisher Atari does return Diesel's character of Riddick back in the FPS game genre. With an all-new single player campaign, a graphically revamped version of the 2004 game The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay and new multiplayer modes there's quite a lot of Riddick to go around this time.
