Puzzle Quest developer bought by Firemint

Infinite Interactive, the Australian-based development studio behind the best selling Puzzle Quest game series, has now been acquired by another Aussie game studio, Firemint. That studio has made a name for itself with its own games including Flight Control which is available for the PC and Mac via Steam. As you can see with the cartoon supplied by Firemint the combined developer is already thinking about its first collaborative game.

Financial terms on the acquisition have not been disclosed. However the press release does say that Infinite Interactive's team will be moved into Firemint's expanded office space in Melbourne and that all future games from the team will be released under the Firemint name. Steve Fawkner, who founded Infinite Interactive back in 1989, will remain with the newly merged company where he will work with his team on an unannounced game.
