Borderlands Game Of The Year Edition comes to the Mac December 3

Borderlands has been a big hit for the PC platform since its release in October 2009 but Gearbox Software's first person shooter-RPG hybrid will soon be heading to Mac hard drive. Publisher Feral Interactive has announced plans to release a native Mac port of the game for a December 3 release date.

The Mac version is actually a port of the Game of the Year Edition which means Mac gamers will get access to the main game plus all four of Borderlands' downloadable mini-expansion packs (he Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot, The Secret Armory of General Knoxx and Claptrap's New Robot Revolution). The game is priced at $49.95.

Lego Star Wars heads to the Mac later this week

Mac owners have missed out on getting a native version of the great Lego Star Wars games, which is kind of odd since you would think that this family friendly action game based on the Star Wars franchise would be perfect for a Mac port. Finally Feral Interactive has announced that they will release a Mac port of Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga in both stores and via download on Friday. November 12.

This port of the TT Games-developed title adapts all six movies in the Star Wars saga with those cool Lego bricks taking the form of various Star Wars characters, along with 36 levels, co-op support and more. The game will sell for the fairly high price of $39.95.

First two Brothers In Arms games finally coming to the Mac

Long before Borderlands, developer Gearbox Software made a name for its with its WWII themed tactical shooter series Brothers In Arms. However for some reason the series had never made it to the Mac platform. That's changing in April as Feral Interactive have announced their plans to port the first two PC Brothers in Arms games to Apple's machine.

Feral's game bundle, Brothers In Arms: Double Time, contains both Road to Hill 30 (released for the PC in 2005) and Earned In Blood (released in 2006). The native Mac ports will be released by Feral on April 16 for $29.95.

BioShock finally coming to the Mac in October

While PC gamers are anxiously awaiting the release of BioShock 2 in early February, Mac owners will finally be able to play the original game in the first person shooter series in a native format. Feral Interactive has announced that the Mac version of BioShock will be released in October.

Yes, that does mean it took over two years for the Mac gaming audience to get a native version of 2K Boston's FPS masterpiece of gameplay and art design. The Mac version is currently available for pre-order at Feral Interactive's web site for $49.95. System requirements for the game can be found after the jump:

Is BioShock finally coming to the Mac?

UK based Feral Interactive is getting to be well known for porting games to the Mac including older titles like Battlstations: Midway, Black and White 2 and the upcoming Rome: Total War. But could the developer be porting one of the most acclaimed PC games in recent years to the Mac platform.

The Macworld web site reports that during last week's Macworld Expo, Feral employees were wearing t-shirts with the Big Daddy character from BioShock. Feral employees confirmed that they would be handling the port of 2K Boston's 2007 shooter to the Mac. No other info, including a release date, was revealed in the article. Of course, the sequel, BioShock 2, is due for release for the PC and other platforms later in 2009.

Rome: Total War finally coming to the Mac

UK based Feral Interactive has been doing a good job of bringing several older PC games to the native Mac platform in the past year or so. Today the company announced that their latest Mac port will be for Rome: Total War, the historical RTS game from developer The Creative Assembly.

The game was first released via Activision in the fall of 2004 (the developer is now owned by Sega). Feral's Mac port will be of the Gold Edition of the game which will include both the original and the Barbarian Wars expansion pack. Feral will release the game this March for $29.99. Of course, the developers' latest game, Empire: Total War, will be released for the PC this March as well.

Black and White 2 (finally) coming to the Mac in January

Before Lionhead Studios was purchased by Microsoft, Peter Molyneux made games for a number of different publishers. One of them was Electronic Arts and in October of 2005 EA released Lionhead's "god game" sequel Black and White 2. Now UK based Feral Interactive has announced that over three years later they will release a native Mac version of the game.

The game itself will ship from the company on January 6 around the time of the annual (and perhaps last?) MacWorld Expo. Feral will also include the game's expansion pack, Battle of the Gods, along with the main game so at least we won't have to wait another 3 1/2 years for that to happen. There's no word if there will be a free Mac demo of the game released.

Sid Meier's Pirates coming to the Mac (finally)

We all know that it takes PC games some time to be ported over to the Mac but this case seems especially long. UK based Feral Interactive has announced that it will be the one to finally bring Firaxis Games' 2004 strategy-RPG Sid Meier's Pirates to the Mac.

The game was released for the PC nearly four years ago in the fall of 2004 by Atari in the last Sid Meier-Firaxis title to be released by the publisher before Firaxis and its properties were bought by 2K Games. Feral Interactive is taking pre-orders for the Mac version at its web site. It will ship out in late August for the price of $29.95.

Battlestations: Midway coming to the Mac June 27

Eidos' 2007 released WWII naval action-strategy game Battlestations: Midway was a surprise critical and sales success. Eidos is already preparing a sequel to the game, Battlestations: Pacific, but before that happens Macintosh owners will be able to play the original game in a direct port.

The Macintosh version is being handled by UK based Feral Interactive and is due for release June 27 worldwide with the US price coming in at $49.95. You can pre-order the game via Feral's online store. There's no word yet on any plans for a Mac demo for the game
