Big Download's News Bits & Bytes - August 6

The weekend is here. Time to rest up before the massive amount of game news hits starting next week. In the meantime here are some more news items of note:

GoG.com adds two games to line-up today

GoG.com must be getting into the E3 2010 spirit. Today the DRM-free PC game download site has announced it's adding not one but two classic titles to its PC game library. The first is Journey to the Center of the Earth, an adventure game adaptation of the Jules Verne novel from developer Frogwares that first came out in 2003. You can get the game now from GoG.com for $9.99

The other new entry on the site today is Fantasy Wars, a turn-based strategy game from developer/publisher 1C Company that was released in 2007. You can get the game now for $9.99.

Gamersgate weekend deals hit the net

Yep, we have some more weekend PC game sales to let you know about. The download service Gamersgate has sent over word that a numbeer of games will be placed on sale on their site for this weekend only. One of them is Frontlines: Fuel of War, the 2008 released FPS from Kaos Studios and THQ. You can download the game from Gamersgate for just $14.99 this weekend, a savings of 50 percent.

In addition, Gamersgate has the fantasy strategy game Fantasy Wars on sale this weekend for just $7.99. Also they are offering folks a free download of EA's first Godfather game with pre-orders of the upcoming Godfather II release.
