Sims 3 Generations trailer follows a couple from childhood to old age

While aging has been in Sims 3 since the game was released, most of the options for a particular character were focused around their young adult and adult life. The newest expansion, Generations, aims to give those looking for more variety in young and old age some new goodies to play with. This trailer shows a few of these by focusing on the life of one couple. They play together as children, go to parties as teenagers, get married and raise kids, and eventually pass into old age while watching their family grow.

Elemental trailer takes on elemental lords

This developer diary for the new standalone Elemental expansion may interest those that were put off by the rather rough state of Stardock's latest release. Detailing the changes being made in Fallen Enchantress, it goes in-depth with the new tactical combat system and shows off the new massive boss-like elemental lords. Of note is that combat is now dictated by initiative, rather than turns per side. The elemental lord Morian, Ruin of Summer is also present, and he lays the beat down on some poor foot soldiers.

Bad Company 2: Vietnam trailer showcases new additions

If you're like us, you loved Battlefield Vietnam. It may have been mostly a reskin of Battlefield 1942, but it was such a fun and intense game that it didn't really matter. Now, with the Vietnam expansion for Bad Company 2, DICE is returning to the lush jungles to fight in one of the defining conflicts in history. This trailer (well, more of an interview, really) talks to Daniel Matros about all of the new additions, gameplay and otherwise, to the Bad Company formula that Vietnam is bringing to the table. Of note are the two new massive maps, the period-specific vehicles like the Huey, and the lack of more high-powered equipment like Red Dot sights.

Cataclysm release date announced

Those waiting for Blizzard's next World of Warcraft expansion don't have to wait much longer. Cataclysm has been announced for a December 7th release date, and soon players will be roaming and flying through new and revamped areas of Azeroth. The expansion is retailing for $40, with the collector's edition (comes with a bunch of goodies, like an art book and in-game pets) retailing for $80. The straight version will be available in most stores as well as through digital distribution, while the collector's edition will only be retail. We're sure we don't need to explain to you what World of Warcraft is, or even what the expansion is about, so we'll leave it at that.

Dawn of War 2: Retribution trailer stands for the living

Unlike what you would expect out of most elves, the Eldar in Warhammer 40k are hardcore, slit-your-throat badasses. This is made blatantly apparent in this Retribution trailer, which depicts the highly-advanced Eldar forces fighting against a tide of the dead and damned. The result is sheer carnage, and we wouldn't have it any other way. Showcased goodies include the Eldar Avatar of Khaine, a Great Unclean One (Greater Daemon of Nurgle), and hordes of both factions' basic troops. Those looking for the gory, visceral combat from the original game will be greatly please by this trailer, and it certainly ends with a bang.

Review: Dragon Age: Origins - Witch Hunt

It's a big week for the ladies of Bioware's hit role-playing games, and bringing closure to some outstanding storylines. On the same day a DLC campaign for Mass Effect 2 released, a similar one came out for Dragon Age: Origins. This is definitely the time to follow-up on lost romances, and since Leliana got her own DLC campaign, it's only fair that Witch Hunt focuses on another prospective love interest, Morrigan. After disappearing at the end of the main campaign, this is the last chance players have to track her down and confront her. However, despite the huge setup and anticipation, this is one of the most disappointing expansions to release for the game so far.

Review: Mass Effect 2: Lair of the Shadowbroker

There's little doubt that out of all the DLC expansions that have come out so far, Lair of the Shadowbroker is the one that's been a long time coming. Mass Effect players who chose Liara as romantic interest in the first game can revisit, and perhaps rekindle, that past relationship. Or they can choose to bring it to its conclusion if they chose to pursue a new romance in the sequel. Beyond following-up on a long lost relationship, the campaign ties up loose ends that span both games. In pursuing the reclusive Shadowbroker, players pull the mask one of the most mysterious characters in the series while bringing closure to one of the most significant side stories in Mass Effect 2.

ArmA 2 trailer takes Brits to the fight

Bohemia Interactive has always relied on its intense and thorough simulation of warfare, and ArmA 2 is no exception. Operation Arrowhead expanded the fight to Takistan, and now the British Forces DLC is expanding the fighters in Takistan to include the British. The trailer doesn't really showcase anything unexpected, unless one classifies a British accent as "new," but it does give a good look into the realistic world of ArmA 2. The DLC expansion includes new British equipment, a new mini-campaign, and the ability to play as British soldiers on the battlefield.

Going Rogue videos unveil an all-new city

The City of Heroes: Going Rogue expansion is expected to release shortly, and players can expect to explore the all-new area of Praetoria when it does. Praetoria is a mirror universe where versions of the game's signature heroes conquered the world and established a utopia with a very strict sense of peace. Beneath the shimmering city is an underground where the resistance gathers its forces. The developer video above discusses all the sights players can expect, highlighted with the recent 'Ultra-mode' graphics overhaul the game recently received. Continue after the jump to watch a flythrough video featuring the Neutopolis and Imperial City areas.

City of Heroes: Going Rogue is scheduled to go live on August 17th. Players can pre-purchase the game from the NCsoft store to gain early access to the new powers and abilities.
