Entertainment Media Council announced

The game publishers and developers in the US have the Entertainment Software Association. Gamers themselves have their own non-profit group the Entertainment Consumers Association. This week a similar group has announced its presence. The newly formed Entertainment Media Council is a group devoted to "advancing the interactive entertainment business in the United States."

The group currently has an advisory that includes a wide variety of developers, game journalists and investors. In an article at Gamaustra, the organization's CEO Morgan Ramsey stated that the new organization is devoted to "fostering entrepreneurship, cultivating strong corporate leadership and developing the role that interactive entertainment plays in society." While he admits to some overlap with the ESA and ECA Ramsey adds, "our mission, approach, and people are distinct."
