Test Drive Unlimited 2 to offer first DLC release for free

Test Drive Unlimited 2 has had some launch pains as the open world driving game from developer Eden Games and publisher Atari has been dealing with a number of issues since it was first released earlier this month. Today a post on the game's official message board reveals that players of the game will be getting some compensation for all of the game's launch issues.

Specifically, the post states that the first premimum DLC pack for Test Drive Unlimited 2 will now be provided to its players for free. The post states,"The Exploration Pack contains new wrecks to be discovered that unlock the Lancia Stratos version Rallye and 1969 Dodge Charger." There's no word on when the DLC pack will be released. The post also contains a list of all of the issues in the game that have been fixed. You can check out the list after the jump:

Now the game's official message boards have a new update that states progress is being made on correcting the connectivity and DLC problems.

According to the note from developer Eden Studios, the development team is " ... working around the clock to continue optimizing the game. Test Drive Unlimited 2 puts you up for the night

More Test Drive Unlimited 2 trailers! This one in particular shows the player housing, which makes a return from the first game. it's nothing too fancy, being mostly decoration and such. The houses are very pretty by driving game standards, but not all that great to us. After all, many other games have done a better job of portraying player housing. Granted, such games revolved around actual on-foot mechanics, so it's understandable. In short, there's nothing really on show in this trailer. Just another place to sink your hard-earned cash into as you win race after race in Test Drive Unlimited 2.

Test Drive Unlimited 2 trailer explores tropical racing

As far as trailer go, you can't really get much more standard than this Test Drive Unlimited 2 video. It acts mostly as a way to hype up the world, and it does a fairly effective job. After all, those are some pretty stunning car models, textures, and landscapes. Still, it's completely devoid of gameplay content, and the main draw is how the music (by Deadmau5) fits into the cinematography. If you want something to bedazzle your eyes and ears, this s a good trailer, but for something a little more meaty and interesting, you're better off watching previous trailers.

It's completely coincidental that this Test Drive Unlimited 2 trailer featuring the Aston Martin One-77 car released the same day as a new James Bond game trailer, but they go extremely well together.
