Command and Conquer's next game under Visceral Games label

According to a recent interview at Gamasutra, the next game in the Command and Conquer RTS series will be made under the Visceral Games label of its publisher Electronic Arts. The article states that Visceral's general manager Nick Earl will be supervising the "action and strategy" game genres at EA under a new development structure in the EA Games section of the company. Other unnamed general managers will cover the MMO and the driving-first person shooter genre games for EA.

While Visceral Games is based in Redwood Shores, California the article states that this new structure will let the studio share resources with other EA game developer studios in Montreal, Shanghai, Melbourne, and Los Angeles where the Command and Conquer franchise has been based for the last several years. EA released Command and Conquer 4 earlier this year to poor critical and sales response and much of that game' development team either was laid off or departed the studio. Before C&C 4's release, EA announced in November 2009 that it had hired Might and Magic creator Jon Van Caneghem to lead a team to revamp the Command and Conquer franchise. In the new Gamasutra chat, Earl said only that the new C&C game is "pretty far out" although it's not clear if that means the game is still a long way from being released or, well, "far out, man."

Medal of Honor trailer confirms "beta coming soon"

While early versions of this week's new trailer promoting the new Medal of Honor game did not have this particular feature, the new version of the trailer on the game's official web site is promoting the fact that some kind of beta test for the modern day military shooter is "coming soon."

While that's all that been officially announced we can say that its likely a beta concentrating on the multiplayer portion of the game which is being developed by Electronic Arts' Digital Illusions team. As we reported on Wednesday, the reboot of Medal of Honor will ship to stores on October 12.

What is Killspace Entertainment?

It's a developer that's apparently been in operations for a year but until now most of the general public hasn't known about it. It's Killspace Entertainment, a developer based in both Los Angeles and Calabasas, California. The company's official web site shows a weird video but nothing else. However a PDF file from the developer's agency Digital Development Management reveals the company has brought in talent that have worked at Obsidian, EALA, Pandemic, Red 5 Studios and others.

The PDF file states the developer is is working on two projects. One is an original title with a "major publisher" while the other is a licensed game. What could that second game be? The web site superannuation has found that someone at Killspace has registered the www.apocalysenowgame.com web site address. Hmmmmm......
