E3 2010 close to selling out of exhibit space

Last year's return to a large trade show format for E3 was considered a success and it looks like that move is extending into E3 2010. Today the Entertainment Software Association announced that exhibit floor space for the June 15-17 event at the Los Angeles Convention Center was close to selling out.

The ESA also said that pre-registration for E3 2010 was "strong" before the cut-off date for online registration hit on May 3 (people can still attend the event by registering on site during the show). Well known gaming financial analyst Michael Pachter is quoted as saying, "I expect the 2010 E3 to be one of the most exciting in years, with the type of impactful breaking news we have learned to expect from the show."

Video Games Live to hold E3 2010 concert in LA

As they did last year, the traveling video game music concert series Video Games Live plans to hold a concert event in Los Angeles in conjunction with E3 2010. This week it was revealed that the concert will be held on June 17 at 8 pm, just three hours after the exhibit halls close on the annual trade show.

This year's event will be held at the the Nokia Theater, just down the street from E3 2010's location at the Los Angeles Convention Center which should make it easy for E3 attendees to show up. Tickets are on sale now for the event and unlike E3, tickets for Video Games Live can be purchased by the general public.
