Dungeon Party open beta begins

It seems like this has been the week to have beta launches of games. The latest title to announce it is in beta is Dungeon Party, the cartoony-like free-to-play fantasy MMO from French developer Cyanide Studios (they are the same folks that are also making Blood Bowl).

There's no word yet on how long the beta will last but at least you will be able to try out this casual-leaning game without too much trouble. Dungeon Party has players pick from six character classes and then battle in teams of five players against another team searching for treasure with a number of traps and monsters to deal with in each round.

New Dungeon Party screenshots are ready to party

One of the many, many free-to-play MMOs in development is Dungeon Party. The developer of the game, Cyanide Studio, has now released some new screenshots of the game, showing off more of its cartoony-like art style and attitude.

According to the developer, the game will allow players pick from six character classes and then battle in teams of five players against another team searching for treasure with a number of traps and monsters to deal with in each round. There's still no word on how the game will gain revenue but it is still expected to launch in the first quarter of 2009.

New Dungeon Party screenshots

Several months ago, French developer Cyanide Studios announced plans for Dungeon Party, a free to play MMO with a cartoony art style. It's been a while since new info has been released on the game but this week Cyanide released new screenshots of Dungeon Party for all to see on the game's official forums.

While the game apparently missed its beta test date for this past summer Dungeon Party is now scheduled for launch in the first quarter of 2009. It's still going to have players pick from six character classes and then battle in teams of five players against another team searching for treasure with a number of traps and monsters to deal with in each round.

Dungeon Party announced

Wow. Today seems to be the day to reveal new free-to-play MMO games. French developer Cyanide Studio just announced plans to release Dungeon Party, which they plan to release sometime this fall. Like KingIsle's just announced Wizard101, Dungeon Party has a cartoony art style but this game seems to be more of an action game and less of a social interaction title.

According to the press release, Dungeon Party will have players pick from six character classes and then battle in teams of five players against another team searching for treasure with a number of traps and monsters to deal with in each round. There's no word yet on how Cyanide plans to get revenue from the game. They did say they plan to have a beta test of the game sometime this summer before its official launch.
