Nexon America increase revenues by 42 percent in final quarter of 2010

The free-to-play game publisher Nexon America continues to gain more revenues for its game line-up. Today the publisher behind games like Combat Arms, Dungeon Fighter Online and Maple Story announced that revenues for the fourth quarter of 2010 increased by 42 percent compared to the same time period in 2009. Revenues for the month of December alone went up by 60 percent (the company did not reveal specific revenue numbers nor did it announce any profit numbers).

The company launched its latest free-to-play MMO, Vindictus, during that time period. In 2011 it will launch at least one more game, another fantasy MMO titled Dragon Nest.

Dungeon Fighter Online trailer shows off Witch awakening

This is a trailer for Nexon's Dungeon Fighter Online, and it shows off the awakening (super move) of the Witch class. It's safe to say that there's not much else to it. The art is certainly nice (if you like retro-styled artwork, anyway) and the animation is cool, but it's twelve seconds long, lacks sound, and is without context. In short, it's just a brief visual display.

Dungeon Fighter Online trailers show off sweet female gunner moves

Dungeon Fighter Online is one of Nexon's many "out of the box" properties, and judging by these trailers it's still going strong. They aren't really much, but they do detail the fighting moves of the sub-classes. The two shown off are a massive laser (similar to Iron Man's hyper combo in Marvel vs Capcom 2) and a gigantic drop pod filled with electricity and explosives. They are certainly pretty trailers, but are extremely short, and useful for just a good look at how pretty Dungeon Fighter Online is. That's it.

Dungeon Fighter Online trailer brings the pain and arcade action

This is a trailer that brings back the best memories of Guilty Gear and company, and it's for Dungeon Fighter Online. A synthesizer-laden hard rock soundtrack, flashy visuals, and beat-'em-up gameplay all make this look incredibly fun. True beat-'em-ups are few and far between, and if there's a free-to-play MMO that is more arcade-like and skill-based than the majority, you can bet your bottom dollar we're on it. It's also out already, so playing it right now is a possibility!

Nexon reports massive revenue increase in 2009

For a publisher that works on free-to-play titles, Nexon is bringing in lots of money. Today the Korean-based company announced that its worldwide revenues for 2009 went up a massive 56 percent compared to the same period a year ago. Even more significant is that for the first time in the company's history the majority of its revenues came from outside South Korea.

Nexon America increased its revenues by 31 percent in 2009 thanks to the popularity of games like the free-to-play shooter Combat Arms. Nd it looks like the money shows no signs of slowing as the company announced that already in the first quarter of 2010 Nexon America increased its revenues by 28 percent compared to the same period a year ago.

Nexon also announced that its next game, Dungeon Fighter Online, will officially launch in the US on June 9 after several months of beta testing. It will be showing off two upcoming games at next month's E3: Vindictus (due out in late 2010) and Dragon Nest (due in 2011).
