Ridge Racer Unbounded trailer crashes into a wall

Another teaser trailer for Ridge Racer Unbounded, and this video looks much like the previous ones. Streets, sleek looking cars, fancy cinematics, no in-game footage. We're not really into this sort of thing, as we have always mentioned, but car enthusiasts will probably get a kick out of it. For everyone else, though, it won't really inform or excite you. Wait for a more proper trailer.

Dirt 3 trailer unveils dangerous new cars

Group B cars have apparently been banned from rally racing for quite some time, due to the danger of accidental death being far too high. That's not enough to stop Codemasters, however, and Dirt 3 apparently has these dangerous cars in a bracket of their own. After all, you can't die while racing a car in a game! We're not really interested in the racing scene, but we're sure fans of rally sport racing will love that Codemasters has added these cars to Dirt 3.

F1 2011 trailer wants to hear your questions

The developer's behind Codemasters' latest racing game F1 2011 want to hear from you. Specifically, they want to see you ask questions to a camera, and they will pick their favorite questioners to give a tour of the studio. This trailer is just the information for this PR bit: make videos, get a tour. It's as simple as that. Not really worth it for anyone not into F1 2011 though.

Fireburst trailer explodes onto the racing scene

Racing games with plenty of explosions are always our favorite kind, and this trailer for the relatively unknown Fireburst definitely has lots of destruction. It shows plenty of in-game footage of cars catching on fire, slamming into each other, and exploding rather violently. Beyond that, it's pretty much the same sort of thing you can expect from a racing game. Go around on tracks, muscle opponents out of your way, and reach the finish in first and in one piece.

Shift 2 trailer pits two professionals against each other

Staged or not, this trailer did make us crack a bit of a grin. Pitting two drift stars against each other in Shift 2, it shows off the features of both Autolog (which made its debut in Hot Pursuit) and the various customization options available to the player. Watching the real car pros slide around, bump into walls, wince at their mistakes, and eventually finish the race is oddly satisfying. There's also a funny little blooper reel at the end, and an invitation to beat them in unarmed combat driving challenges

Shift 2 trailer blurs the line between reality and simulation

The developers of Shift 2 have bragged over and over that their game is the most realistic racing game ever developed. If this trailer is an indication, the drivers that they consulted think it as well. While this trailer goes mostly into interviewing various high-profile race drivers, it also gives a good look at the physics and visuals of Shift 2. Things such as real-time telemetry (which they actually display within the trailer) and the constant shifting from real to simulated racing blows us away. The best part is that the differences are rather small. Overall, a fantastic trailer.

Shift 2 trailer drives around the city

We don't know much about cars. So when we say that we have no clue what the car in this Shift 2 trailer is, or why it's leagues above and beyond other cars, we really do mean it. However, it's definitely a pretty trailer, and that car sure is slick! We can't really identify all of the cities either, although it looks like Tokyo and London are represented. Overall a meaningless trailer for anybody who isn't in-the-know on cars.

Test Drive Unlimited 2 trailer shows of Jaguar cars

Test Drive Unlimited 2 is pushing its collection of exotic and luxury vehicles, and this trailer is no exception. Depicting a number of cars from British manufacturer Jaguar, it is little more than porno for the car enthusiast. Slick chassis, shiny finishes, and smooth handling (in this trailer, anyway) make these cars a dream for anybody with a love for cars. For the rest of us, though, it's just a bunch of sports cars.

Shift 2 trailer advances your racing career

One of the most important modes in any racing game is the career mode. Players aren't content to simply do exhibition matches anymore, and developers know that. Shift 2, the latest in the Need For Speed series, includes everything you would expect from a single-player mode: persistent character development, progressing through a series of trials and categories, and customization elements. Unfortunately, this trailer doesn't show any of that. Rather, it simply says that there is a single-player and that you can choose which parts you want to play.

Test Drive Unlimited 2 trailer makes some garish cars

This Test Drive Unlimited 2 trailer starts off pretty standard. Cars changing colors, fancy garages, the works. Where it ends up, however, is somewhere completely baffling. Unlimited 2 plans to feature full car customization, and if this trailer is any indication, they aren't just restricting it to things such as certain patterns or certain color combinations. Want to make a bright blue car with earthen brown bubbles along the side? Go ahead! You can be as outlandish as you want, it seems. And despite the potential damage to our retinas, that's a good thing.
