Call of Duty: World at War starts new Double XP weekend; PC patch coming

If you are a fan of Treyarch's WWII shooter Call of Duty: World at War then this weekend will be a big one for those gamers. The official Call of Duty: World at War web site has announced they are now hosting a new Double XP weekend. Starting now you can play the game online and get double the normal experience points you would normally get. This is available for every owner of the game, not just those who have the special Collector's Edition. (the Nazi Zombie co-op mode is also unlocked for all console versions but it's unknown if PC owners get that as well).

In related news, Treyarch has announced on their forums that a 1.2 patch for the PC version of the game is in the works and will be released at the end of January or the beginning of February. There's also a fairly extensive message board post which attempts to explain how Treyech goes about creating PC patches for the game.

Call of Duty: World at War Double XP weekend begins

If you have the Limited Edition PC version of Call of Duty: World at War, this weekend is all about you. As we reported last month, this weekend owners of the Limited Edition version of Treyarch's recent WWII shooter get double XP points in the game's multiplayer servers.

The Double XP time period ends at 11:59 am on December 12. If you own the PC Limited Edition version of the game you are already set to go since your CD keys are already been tagged as being part of that exclusive group. All you have to do is join an online multiplayer server and you will automatically get double the normal experience points for that time period.
