Blizzard celebrates Diablo II's 10th anniversary today
10 years ago today, Blizzard released Diablo II, the sequel to the developer's already popular action-RPG game. Both Diablo games are credited in part with giving the RPG genre a much needed boost at a time when RPG games on the PC were losing popularity due to the rise of the new RTS and FPS games. Diablo II's highly addictive gameplay, along with new character classes, more exterior locations and other features.
Diablo II is still being played by thousands of people today, 10 years after its release. Of course, we have been waiting patiently for Blizzard to release Diablo III which was first announced in 2008 and most likely won't be out for a long time.
