The free-to-play side-scrolling online fighting game, Dungeon Fighter Online, recently got a new updated titled Act V: The Reckoning. The update completely revamps the Priest class, changing everything from his skills to his overall appearance. Now with a haircut, some extra time at the gym, and a renewed sense of purpose this priest isn't just about heals - he swings a giant cross to smite foes. You can get into the action and see what it's like to be a badass priest by downloading the game client here.

In the online side-scrolling multiplayer beat'em up game, Dungeon Fighter Online, players have a chance to choose between five different classes to play, but that's not all. Each class has access to a unique variety of weapons that range from things like swords and pistols to the outrageous like bashing enemies with a giant metal cross or gigantic prayer beads. There are also laser swords and broomsticks. The latter might not sound very powerful, but it's surprisingly effective. Dungeon Fighter Online is free-to-play, and the installation client can be downloaded here.

Each week we find more and more free games that do not quite fit into the freeware mold. Games that do not require a subscription fee to play, but encourage player usage of money through microtransactions or special subscription services. This is Playing For Free, a column that showcases these games.

There are not a lot of brawler games available on the PC, and for good reason. Most people prefer control pads while kicking the snot out of random henchman. However, there are a few, and in the case of Dungeon Fighter Online, they are sometimes even MMOs. An excellent side-scrolling brawler packaged into a rather average MMO, it's Nexon's newest release, and easily our favorite. How can Combat Arms or Maple Story compete with classic gameplay, after all?
