Electronic Arts went all out for the launch of the first Dead Space game in 2008, releasing a comic book mini-series and a DVD animated movie that served as prequels to the sci-fi survival horror game. For the release of Dead Space 2, EA is doing it again with a new animated movie and a new graphic novel in the works.

The graphic novel, Dead Space Salvage, will be released in December by IDW Publishing and will be drawn by Christopher Shy. It will tell the story of the Magpies who encounter the necromorph infested ship USG Ishimura. The new animated movie, Dead Space Aftermath, is due out on DVD in January 2011 and will tell the story of "how the Government sends an unwitting crew of people to get exposed to Marker shards."
