DC Universe Online video sits down with Jim Lee to talk about trust

In a video that comes in at just over ten and half minutes, artist and co-producer at DC Comics Jim Lee sits down with Tim Miller, Director of Blur Studio - the company that put together the stunning 'Who Do You Trust?" cinematic trailer for DC Universe Online. Together, they take a close look at the trailer and point out the fine details that viewers may have missed while watching the action unfold. The trailer reveals a last stand scenario where earth's heroes are defeated and Lex Luthor wins... in an alternate timeline, and the scenario kicks off the game. You can watch the original trailer without commentary after the jump.

DC Universe Online is expected to release in November, and can be pre-ordered now.

DC Universe trailer splits between good and evil

DC Universe Online looks to take on the established superhero MMOs, and this trailer certainly shows it. While there's nothing particularly new in this trailer, it shows off the three things we're sure players want most: DC characters interacting with players, player customization of heroes, and the choice to be good or evil. The combat looks similar to City of Heroes, and the presentation looks similar to Champions Online, but there's not really much that can be done about that. After all, it is the third MMO to tackle super-hero comics. There's only so much you can do to differentiate yourself! Still, if you are excited for DCUO, this wlil be a great trailer. Otherwise, it won't change your mind at all.

DC Universe Online trailer depicts a grim future

This badass trailer for DC Universe Online, which will probably end up being the intro cinematic, reveals the more serious side of using super powers to protect the world from evil, but it also demonstrates how there's always something more evil out there waiting to take advantage of the situation. Players will be able to do their part in helping to defend the world and its timeline when the game launches this November.

DC Universe Online video tours through Suicide Slums

Even in the city of Metropolis - or especially in Metropolis, depending on your point of view - has its good parts and bad parts. Despite heroes superspeeding through the streets and Superman flying overhead, the Suicide Slums district is still a place where people need to think twice before stepping in. That is, unless you're an up and coming superhero in DC Universe Online. Then it's the one place to be where you're practically guaranteed to find action in an effort to tip the balance between heroes and villains.

DC Universe Online video blurs into action

Inspired by The Flash, players will have the option to travel around the city at supersonic speeds in DC Universe Online and become nothing but a blur to all those they pass by. However, unlike some other superhero themed games, the concept of superspeed is taken a step further, and players will be able to run up walls and on ceilings to avoid getting hit. As if that weren't enough, traveling at superspeeds also impacts combat, and players will be able to pull off signature comic book moves like running around enemies, creating a whirlwind, and disorienting them.

Wrath of the Lich King Beta is now open
Today is pretty much a landmark day for MMOs. Earlier today an interview with EA executive John confirmed the existence of the KOTOR MMO. That's enough for any two days. That's right, the download instructions for Wrath of the Lich King's Beta client are now up on the official World of Warcraft website. Our sister site WoW Insider is carrying the news, noting that this is just the beginning of the ramp up to full Beta testing.

Mythos beta is shutting down tonight
The woes continue at Flagship Studios. It was just announced that the Mythos beta will shutdown tonight. The official time slotted for its cease of operations is at July 18th, 2008 at 11:59 CST. Community manager Tiggs left the message on the forums which are also due to close at the same time.

Blizzard victorious in WoW Glider case
Virtually Blind is reporting that the WoW Glider case has been resolved in Blizzard's favor. The maker of the epic fantasy MMO has long contended that the MDY developers are infringing on the company's copyright. MDY makes the WoW Glider bot software, possibly the most popular of a series of options that allow an unattended computer to 'play" World of Warcraft.
