GameStop has Cyber Monday 2009 sale on downloadable PC games

GameStop is not known for their digital download offerings but for today's Cyber Monday 2009 promotion the gaming retailer is offering 50 percent off of 50 downloadable PC game titles. While the game's prices appear to be normal at first when you put them in the site's online checkout page they go down to the promised 50 percent amount.

Some of the more recent games that are a part of this promotion include Fallen Earth, Section 8, and Sacred 2, all of which can be purchased for $24.99 each. Other games on sale include Assassin's Creed for $9.99 and Port Royale 2 for a mere $2.59.

Direct2Drive prices Mass Effect for $5 on Cyber Monday 2009

When the folks that run Direct2Drive posted up their Thanksgiving-themed PC game download sale, they held out on one game that would be revealed today to "celebrate" Cyber Monday 2009. Now that game has been revealed and will be sold at 75 percent off its normal price for the next 12 hours.

And just what is that mystery game? As it turns out it happens to be the original Mass Effect. BioWare's first game in their sci-fi RPG series can be yours for a mere $5 if you act quickly. Five bucks is a pretty tiny amount to pay for one of the best games in the last few years.

Steam's final day of holiday sales falls on Cyber Monday

Technically Steam's final day of PC game price cut sales has nothing to do with Cyber Monday but if it makes you feel any better you can call it Steam's Cyber Monday 2009 sales event if you want to. For the next 23 hours Steam has priced a bunch of titles, from major publisher hits to small indie games, at well below their regular Steam prices.

Cyber Monday deals for PC games few and far between [Update to include Gamestop]

We've reported on the many PC game deals that were revealed last week for the big Black Friday shopping weekend. The good news is that some of those deals have been extended until today. The bad news is that the so-called "Cyber Monday" event for online shopping deals has few PC games on the list.

Amazon.com has a number of Cyber Monday deals for console titles but only one for the PC gamer; Spore is being sold for $19.95 today only. Gamersgate has a Cyber Monday downloadable game deal today as well; it has a package deal of the two Runaway adventure games for $29.99. If there are any other Cyber Monday exclusive PC game deals out there that we have missed, let us know and we will add their listings to this post. Otherwise it looks pretty barren out there.

Update: Gamestop's Cyber Monday sales are up and surprise, surprise, surprise: They have some decent PC game deals out there. They are offering a free copy of the $19.99 Spore Creepy and Cute Parts Pack when you buy the original Spore game. Here's a list of the other deals:
  • Red Alert 3: $39.99 (regular), $54.99 (premium)
  • Warhammer Online : $39.99
  • Unreal Tournament 3 : $14.99
  • Tomb Raider Underworld: $29.99
They are also offering a boatload of downloadable titles at 25 to 50 percent off. Among the highlights: World in Conflict for $22.49, Warhammer 40,000 Dawn of War Soulstorm for $29.99 and Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts for $14.99.
