Late last week we reported that Crytek would be offering another chance for anyone to download and play the full version fo the multiplayer shooter Crysis Wars online for a week. Today the MyCrysis web site has revealed more info on the trial period. It will begin on Thursday, April 9 and end on Friday, April 17

People who have already downloaded the full game and have kept their CD Keys from the previous free trials will have their keys reactivated for the new event. For any newcomers you can receive a CD Key by becoming a member of MyCrysis.net.. The day the free trial starts, MyCrysis.net members will be able to get their CD Key to play the game online. You can go ahead and download the full game and the most recent 1.4 patch to play the shooter in LAN mode for free.

The development team at Crytek have already had two free trial periods for their multiplayer shooter Crysis Wars. Now the team is set to do it again next weekend. A post on the MyCrysis web site announces that the game will become free to play again for the week beginning on April 9.

People who have played the game during the previous trial periods have hopefully held onto their CD keys. Crytek says those keys will be reactivated for next week's play event. More info on the trial will be revealed on Monday. You can go ahead and download the full version here at Big Download ahead of April 9.

Crysis Wars, the stand-alone multiplayer component of Crysis Warhead, has a patch updating it to v1.4. It includes a number of bug fixes, graphics improvements and game enhancements. After weeks of speculation, at least two separete stories on the Interweb have posted up word that UK developer Free Radical Design has found itself a buyer. 1Up.com reports that Free Radical's scriptwriter Rob Yescombe has told them it's German-based Crytek (the original Far Cry, Crysis and Crysis Warhead) has bought the company. Our sister site Joystiq has also heard the same thing from an anonymous source.

If true (and we expect to hear something official tomorrow) this move would represent only the latest expansion for Crytek. Besides their home office in Frankfurt, they have launched other development studios in the past two years in Kiev, Ukraine, Seoul, South Korea and Budapest, Hungary. They also purchased the former Black Sea Studios in Sofia, Bulgaria and renamed it Crytek Black Sea

If you like your multiplayer shooters to be free, Electronic Arts has the ticket for you this holiday period. As we reported earlier this week, a new free trial for the full version of Crysis Wars is now in effect. You can play the full multiplayer shooter from developer Crytek from now until 2:59 am ET on Dec. 29.

In order to play the free trial you have to go to Crytek's MyCrysis.com web site to get a registration key. Then, if you haven't already done so, you can download the full version of Crysis Wars right here at Big Download. You will also need to download the newest 1.3 patch for the game which adds two new multiplayer maps.

Last October, developer Crytek and publisher Electronic Arts allowed folks to download and play the full version of Crysis Wars for free for a limited time period. Today EA announced they are doing it again for the holidays. Starting at Noon ET on Friday, Dec. 19 and ending on 2:59 am ET on Dec. 29, the full version of the sci-fi multiplayer shooter will be free to play online.

The full version will include the two new multiplayer maps, Savanna and Frost, that were released today as part of the new 1.3 patch for Crysis Wars (you can download that patch now at Big Download). As with the last free trial, you will have to go to the MyCrysis.com web site and register to receive a key that will allow you to play the game online during the new trial period. Of course we have the full version already available to grab here at Big Download.

This patch updates Crysis Wars, the stand-alone multiplayer game that comes with with Crysis Warhead, to version 1.3. It improves game performance and installs the holiday map pack, which includes the maps "Frost" and "Savannah." Further information about the map pack can be found on the MyCrysis.com.

If you have been playing the stand alone Crysis Wars multiplayer game that comes with Crysis Warhead, get ready to get happy on Wednesday. Developer Crytek has announced that tomorrow they will release patch 1.3 for the game that will include two new multiplayer maps.

One is a PowerStruggle map named Frost that as the name implies has a lot of snow and ice in the jungle (courtesy of Crysis' aliens who apparently like things a bit chilly). The other is a Team Instant Action map called Savanna. It's notable for both being large and for taking place in a setting that's meant to look like an African wilderness. Of course the patch will be made available here at Big Download tomorrow.

The latest patch for Crysis Wars, the stand-alone multiplayer aspect of Crysis Warhead, updates the game to version 1.2 and includes a number of bug fixes and enhancements. Steam customers should try the autoupdater before using this patch. Keep reading for full patch notes.
