Paradox Interactive signs publishing deal with NeoCore Games

The developer behind one of Paradox Interactive's latest games has scored a new publishing deal with the company. Today the company announced the deal with NeoCore Games in a multi-title deal that includes bringing NeoCore's two previous RTS games, Crusaders; Thy Kingdom Come and King Arthur, under the Paradox banner. Paradon just released NeoCore's latest RTS game Lionhead: King's Crusade.

Paradox's first game with NeoCore under its new deal is a upcoming expansion pack for King Arthur called The Druids that will add a new campaign to the game. The publishing deal also covers several unannounced games from NeoCore.

Steam puts NeoCore's games on sale for 66 percent off

After the three day long weekend, the Steam service is back with a new mid-week sales event. From now until 1 pm Eastern time on Thursday Steam is offering both games from developer NeoCore Games on sale for 66 percent off their normal price. The deal includes both the the historical RTS game Crusaders: Thy Kingdom Come and the fantasy RPG-RTS game King Arthur and the game's two DLC mini-expansions.

You can also get both games and the DLC in one NeoCore Complete Pack for just $18.70. That's compared to a $54.99 price if you bought each game and DLC separately at their normal price range.

NeoCore: Lionheart isn't Crusaders

Earlier this week Paradox Interactive announced plans to release Lionheart: King's Crusade from developer NeoCore Games in 2010. We mentioned at the time that the game looked extremely similar to NeoCore's first game Crusaders: Thy Kingdom Come which was released in Europe in 2008 and recently was made available in the US via Steam.

While we thought it was possible that the two games were the same with different titles we contacted the developer and publisher for more info. Paradox did not get back to us but NeoCore's PR head told Big Download, "It's not the same game at all. It will be much improved, bigger and nicer." The PR rep would not elaborate but we hope to get some more info on Lionheart in the near future.

Paradox's Lionheart: Kings' Crusade looks very familiar

This week Paradox Interactive announced plans to release Lionheart: Kings' Crusade, a historical strategy game from developer NeoCore Games. However the game, which Paradox plans to release in the second quarter of 2010, looks very similar to NeoCore's first published title, Crusaders: Thy Kingdom Come.

That game was released in Europe back in 2008 and was recently made available to US gamers via Steam download. Both games are set during the Crusades and screenshots from both titles also look very similar. So what's going on? We've emailed both Paradox and NeoCore Games to see if we can get all of this sorted out.

Crusaders: Thy Kingdom Come makes US debut on Steam today

Following hot on the heels on the download release of History: Great Battles Medival today, a second historical strategy game is now available for US gamers to try out. Crusaders: Thy Kingdom Come is an RTS title that comes from Hungary-based NeoCore Games. The title was released in retail stores in Europe last year but makes its US debut today via Steam for $19.99.

Set during the time of the First Crusade, the game has five different hero units to pick from, each with different skills to use. The game claims to have massive battlefields with weather and physics coming into play as gameplay changers rather than just decoration.
