Back in June the first of two planned downloadable episodes for the action-adventure game Insecticide was released. Developed by Crackpot Entertainment and published by Gamecock, the full game was released on the Nintendo DS console, yet PC gamers are still waiting for the second and final PC episode of the game to be released. The game's official web site claims episode 2 is out there but none of the vendors mentioned (Steam, Direct2Drive and Trymedia) actually have the episode available to download and purchase.

Since Gamecock was recently acquired by Southpeak Games we contacted their PR folks to get an update on when or even if the second Insecticide PC episode would be released. We were told that there are no updates at all on the release, with the rep saying, "It seems to be TBD at this point." Big Download also contacted Crackpot Entertainment for comment but at the time of this post we had not heard back from them. At the moment it doesn't look like folks who bought the first episode will be getting the final one anytime soon.

Publisher Gamecock Media Group has notified Big Download that the first of two installments of developer Crackpot Entertainment's Insecticide game is now available for PC. A noir thriller, Insecticide features a cast of creepy critters ensconced in a crime-ridden city.

"Seeing Insecticide's stylized noir visuals and quirky, oddball humor on the PC really bring the gameplay to life," said Rick Stults, Console Chief for Gamecock Media Group. "The first episode is big enough to really keep gamers glued to the story, having fun, and really getting absorbed into the bug world."

Insecticide is available for $14.99 from InsecticideTheGame.com.

A couple of months after its release on the Nintendo DS console, publisher Gamecock has now announced that the first dowloadable PC episode of Insecticide has gone gold. Developed by newcomer Crackpot Entertainment, the first episode will be made available via download on June 13 for $14.99 from Direct2Drive and Gametap.

The game is an action-adventure title that is something of a throwback to those classic humorous LucasArts adventure games that takes place entirely in an insect world featuring a private detective character named Chrys Lizst who is investigating a series of crimes in the world of Troi that gets her into conflict with the city's power leaders. The PC version will have more voice overs and video than the DS port of the game. There's no word when the second episode will be released.
