The team at COR Entertainment have now released the latest version of its long running free sci-fi first person shooter Alien Arena. This version, 7.50, is officially designated as Alien Arena 2011 and contains a bunch of new content, features and improvements.

There are two all new maps added to the 30 + maps already in the game (Dm-Annihilation and Dm-Neptune) along with a revamp of another level, Dm-Babel. The new version also has updated player skins and models, a new ragdoll physics system, a rewrite of the in-game IRC client and more. Based on id Software's open source version of the Quake III Arena engine, Alien Arena is designed for fast deathmatch action in a retro sci-fi look. The new version (7.45) includes a number of graphical and engine improvements including character models in a new skeletal format, soft shadowing, better lighting, faster rendering and more.

Alien Arena 2008 is a free to play online shooter that captures the competitive gameplay of games like Quake III Arena and Unreal Tournament, set in a retro alien world.
