Feature: XBLA Games That Deserve PC Ports

There are some games that PC gamers just wish they had. Most of them usually fall into the realm of retail games, as there are tons of console exclusive retail games and not many downloadable ones. However, that is not to say that downloadable services don't have anything to offer. Some of a system's best games can be found on their online markets. We've rounded up 20 games, in no particular order, from the Xbox Live Arcade that should realy see a port to PC. Some have PC counterparts (like Catan) and others came from formerly PC developers (Dead Samurai, Castle Crashers). But they all have the trait in common that they should really see life on your computer. Because there's nothing worse than a game without a wider audience.

Boot Disk: Sega Genesis Classics

Sometimes you just need to sit down, slide a floppy into your A: drive, and enjoy gaming retro style. We know this all too well! That's why we have a list of the best and brightest from days long gone. These are some of our favorite games of all time, and we're sure that you'll love them as much as we do, if not more. Welcome to Boot Disk, and enjoy the retro ride!

This week is something different from the norm. It's a re-release of several classic games that never saw their way to PC. Why? Because they were released on the Genesis instead. SEGA has pulled these games from the GameTap service and offered them for purchase on the PC instead. We're all for it, too, as the games included are quite good. While there are a few bad ones (Sonic 3D Blast), they are classic and available on the PC for the very first time. We'd call that a definite win for PC users. Since the games come in a bundle, we're going to cover our favorites, rather than a single game or all of them.

Big Iron: Console vs PC

You smell that? I love the smell of Napalm in the morning. It smells like.... victory.
- Lieutenant Colonel Willard, Apocalypse Now

This is sure to be the first of an ongoing series of incendiary grenades on the subject, stoked, in this case, by some remarks made on the EA Sports forums regarding FIFA 09.

On the one hand, we have folks complaining about two different versions of the game being delivered -- one for the PC, and one for the console market. When, at first blush, BI was made aware of the impending brouhaha, the gloves came off, the eyes turned red, and a whole lot of words that won't be appearing in this space for fear of earning an M rating came pouring in a napalm-flavored from torrent our keyboard.

The sanitized version goes something like this....
