Inarguration Day brings new related game releases and deals

In about a half-hour, we will have a new President of the US. So it makes sense that some folks are taking advantage of the opportunity to promote new games and game deals. One of these companies is IGS who is releasing a new PC game called Commander in Chief. Developed by French based Eversim the title was previously released in Europe as Mission President. It allows players to take over as the leader of any country on Earth. You can create a Cabinet to help run the government and then makes decisions on military, economic, social and other issues.

Also today, the Democracy 2 web site is offering a one-day online sale of their political sim game from developer Positech Games. You can purchase and download the full version for just $9.99, a 50 percent discount from its usual price. You can download a free demo of the game right here at Big Download.

Yet another political sim game, Commander In Chief, revealed

Stardock has already announced plans to release their US presidential campaign sim game, The Political Machine 2008, for sometime later this year. Now IGS Games, a small game publisher out of Maryland, has announced plans to release yet another topical political game this year. Commander in Chief, however, isn't how you get elected to the big White House. It's how you do your work once you get the job.

Developed by French based Eversim (where the game has already been released as Mission President), Commander in Chief will give players a way to pick any real country in the world to lead. Once picked the player creates a Cabinet to help run their government and then makes decisions on military, economic, social and other issues. Can you be the one to finally get the US out of Iraq safely? Can you steer the economic ship away from recession? Can you veto laws that will restrict sales of video games because of their content? Ok, that last one is one we made up but it would still be cool. For people bored with diplomacy there will also apparently be a multiplayer "Wargame" mode.
