Nexon's popular free-to-play first person shooter Combat Arms is getting a new level as part of a recent update. The new map is called Oil Rig and as you can see in the above flyby video of the level it's a multi-story based set, where else, on an off shore oil rig.

Also from Nexon comes the first two episodes of Roommates. These mine-sitcoms show two ladies who love to play Combat Arms together in their apartment. Look for jokes about fashion, the French and the Germans in these two episodes. You can check out both of them after the jump

Mercs is a humorous live action series based on Combat Arms, the free-to-play military themed online shooter... with zombies. The series is featured on the Blockparty Blabber Box, a monthly web video series dedicated to keeping fans up to date with their favorite Nexon games. The first episode of Blabberbox, which includes the first couple of Mercs sketches and more, can be seen after the jump. Combat Arms trailers are always about two things: new maps or new guns. These three trailers are about the latter. The first one, above, is a trailer for the newly added XM-8. It isn't a modern war shooter without the XM guns, after all. The other two cover two variants of the same sniper rifle. All three trailers are fairly normal and tedious, showing the guns as the player wielding them kills his way across different maps. Standard stuff, nothing to see really.

The free-to-play game publisher Nexon America continues to gain more revenues for its game line-up. Today the publisher behind games like Combat Arms, Dungeon Fighter Online and Maple Story announced that revenues for the fourth quarter of 2010 increased by 42 percent compared to the same time period in 2009. Revenues for the month of December alone went up by 60 percent (the company did not reveal specific revenue numbers nor did it announce any profit numbers).

The company launched its latest free-to-play MMO, Vindictus, during that time period. In 2011 it will launch at least one more game, another fantasy MMO titled Dragon Nest.

Well, we're lying. They aren't defenseless. Although in the face of overpowering weaponry as shown in this trailer, they are pretty useless! This particular trailer for the ever-expanding Combat Arms shows off the co-op mission that takes place on the Desert Fox map. Beyond that, it looks like the standard co-op mission. Kill enemies, complete relatively normal objectives (bomb here, go there), and finish alive. It's a nice break from all the zombie missions that have been added to the game recently, but as usual, it must be undertaken with other players. No single-player grinding here!

Do we really need to write up this trailer? Combat Arms puts out more trailers than any game we've ever seen! In this case, it's yet another flythrough, this time of the map Desert Fox. It's a stereotypical Middle Eastern town, with plenty of brownish colors. Interestingly enough, the flythrough actually stutters as it plays, which is unusual given that there's nothing actually going on! Besides that, there's nothing to this trailer.

More trailers from the free-to-play FPS Combat Arms! This time they are for a new map and three new weapons. The new map is Ghost Town, an abandoned-looking Eastern European town, and both the flythrough and weapon videos give a good idea of the action that will take place on the map.. The three new weapons are a reworked P90 and two versions of the same assault rifle (XK-8). All of the weapons are silenced, which gives off that distinct fwip noise gamers love to hear so much. In terms of excitement, however, these trailers are fairly standard and not that thrilling or engaging.

While Combat Arms trailers are alright, they aren't really all that exciting. Only the new game mode trailers seem interesting, as flythroughs and weapon trailers are just straightforward and relatively boring. These two trailers for Combat Arms show off new weapons: M1866 and the MG21E. The former is a high-powered sniper rifle, while the latter is a squad light machine-gun. Both trailers show off the weapons in the zombie mode, as opposed to regular mode, but we're sure it has much the same effect on actual people.

Combat Arms is best known for two things: being a free-to-play knock-off of Counter-Strike, and having zombies. This trailer shows off both of these elements in one succinct, concise video, and thankfully shows it off through in-game footage. After all, we don't like flythroughs, but we love gameplay stuff! There's tons of gore and gunfire for those interested in Combat Arms, but if you aren't used to the game already, this trailer will hardly change your mind.

Nexon America's library of free-to-play online titles continues to expand in both users and in revenues. Today the company announced that the total number of registered users for its games surpassed 12 million users during the third quarter of 2010 in the US. Those games include the online RPG Dungeon Fighter Online and the first person shooter Combat Arms.

Without revealing specific numbers, Nexon America said that its revenues went up 28 percent during the third quarter of 2010 with revenues from September went up 23 percent compared to September 2009 and marked the 16th straight month that the company has recorded revenue increases. Next week, Nexon America officially launches its next game, the fantasy MMO Vindictus.
