Cliff Bleszinski walks viewers through a Bulletstorm

Cliff Bleszinski, Design Director at Epic Games, narrates this gameplay demonstration video for Bulletstorm and showcases many of the game's unique features. It's the same demonstration that was shown at the EA press conference during the week of E3 2010. While many companies are developing realistic military themed shooters, Bulletstorm takes the exact opposite approach by being a pulp sci-fi action game. Players must dispose of their enemies creatively to earn points, thereby doing cool stuff to earn cool stuff so they can do more cool stuff. These include using a grapple in combination with a variety of weapons and occasionally lighting some butts on fire.

Bulletstorm is scheduled to release on February 22, 2011.

Next Epic Games title reveal delayed until Monday

While Epic Seseme Street may have been an April Fool's gag on IGN last week it was no joke that Epic Games' lead designer Cliff Bleszinski was supposed to revealed their next big game project on the Late Night With Jimmy Fallon talk show tonight. Well, it it looks like we will be waiting a bit longer for that to happen.

Word has gotten out via the show's producer Twitter feed that Bleszinski's appearance has been pushed back until Monday. Bleszinski's own Twitter blog said the delay was because they wanted to take a couple of extra days to polish what will be seen on the show. While most people believe the reveal will be for Gears of War 3 we are hoping it will actually be Epic's long-in-development collaboration with developer People Can Fly.

Cliff Bleszinski answers 10 for the fans

Our sister site GameDaily had a chance to sit down with Epic designer Cliff Bleszinski and decided the best use of the time would be to answer questions from readers. Having gone through various submissions GameDaily's interview covered everything from a 17-year old Cliff getting a personal phone call from Mark Rein sharing ideas for a game he made and sent to what would later be Epic Games, the advancements in the Unreal Engine 3 and why Cliff ditched his Dodge Viper.

Aspiring game makers should take note as the game designer, formally known as CliffyB, outlines a few key approaches to entering the industry successfully. "A great deal of our employees at Epic got started in the mod community and now they're living the dream of making AAA fun titles," Cliff explains.

Epic Games has been known to entice MOD makers by releasing tools to the community and recently announcing the $1,000,000 Intel Make Something Unreal Contest which runs until the end of 2009. Make sure to check out the rest of the interview at GameDaily.
