Capsized coming to Steam on Friday

Two of the team members in charge of making the free first person shooter Nexuiz are close to releasing their first commercial game. Lee Vermeulen and Jesse McGibney of Alientrap have announced that Capsized, their sci-fi theme 2D platformer action game, will be released on Steam this Friday.

In addition to the full game, a demo of Capsized will be released on the same day, allowing folks to try out the gameplay features of the platformer, which has a space traveller exploring a planet he (or she?) has crashed on. The game also features local deathmatch and co-op modes, among others. The full verison of Capsized will be released for $9.99.

Capsized announced

If you like free first person shooters you may be aware of Neowiz, a Quake-engine based free title from developer Alientrap Software. Now it looks like the development team is working on their first commercial game but it's much different then their debut project.

Capsized is a 2D side-scrolling platform action game where a hero finds himself stranded on an alien planet and has to deal with its many inhabitants. The above YouTube video gives you an idea of the gameplay but little else about Capsized itself has been released. The title is due for release sometime in 2010 and Alientrap is currently looking for player testers to put Capsized through its paces.
