BlizzCon 2010 ticket/charity dinner lottery now live

A little while ago we reported that people still had a chance to get tickets to the now sold out BlizzCon 2010 event by entering themselves in a lottery to pay for both tickets to Blizzard's big fan event on October 22-23 in Anaheim California. Now people can enter themselves into the lottery to get a chance to pay for those tickets at Blizzard's web site (a Battle.net account is required).

As we mentioned before the lottery will pick a select group of people who will then be given a chance to purchase tickets to BlizzCon 2010 along with access to a charity dinner the night before BlizzCon begins with Blizzard execs and team members in attendance. The ticket holders will also get a special signed print of Blizzard game artwork. 200 BlizzCon 2010 tickets will be sold for $500 each with a limit of two tickets per person. The deadline to register for the lottery is Saturday at 11:59 pm Pacific time (2:59 am Sunday Eastern time).

BlizzCon 2010 officially sold out

It's game over for folks wanting to purchase tickets for this year's BlizzCon event. As reported by our sister site WoW.com the second and final batch of $150 tickets for Blizzard's annual fan event that went on sale at 1 pm Eastern time today quickly sold out within a half-hour just like the first batch of tickets did on Wednesday night.

So if you still want to go to BlizzCon and perhaps see stuff like what's next for StarCraft II or a new look at Diablo III, you can either spend a ton of money via eBay, maybe win some tickets in a contest or stay home and purchase the DirecTV-internet streaming pay-per-view coverage of BlizzCon 2010 on October 22-23.

BlizzCon 2010 sells out of first batch of tickets

As expected, sales of the first batch of tickets for BlizzCon 2010 on Wednesday disappeared. The tickets for Blizzard's annual fan event on October 22-23 in Anaheim, California went on sale at 10 pm Wednesday night and according to our sister site WoW.com all the tickets were sold out in less than half an hour. They also supposedly saw BlizzCon tickets being sold on eBay for $500 soon after the sell out.

The second and final batch of tickets for BlizzCon 2010 will go on sale at the BlizzCon web site at 1 pm Eastern time on Saturday (10 am Pacific time). Again tickets cost $150 each and people are limited to five tickets per mailing address. If you can't secure BlizzCon tickets, well, there's always the DirecTV-internet streaming pay-per-view video event.

Jay Mohr to appear at BlizzCon 2010 ... or will he?

Having attended our first BlizzCon last year one of the highlights was seeing actor and comedian Jay Mohr do his thing at the show annual costume contest and other events. Late on Friday the official World of Warcraft web site said that the 2010 edition of Blizzard's annual fan event has officially said Mohr will be appearing at the show once again.

Except there's one problem. On Mohr's official Twitter page he has responded to message from a fan about Blizzard's announcement, saying, "I'm not sure if I'm doing it yet." Sounds like Blizzard may have been a little premature in announcing the deal. Hopefully this is just a misunderstanding rather than a negotiating ploy by Mohr.
