BioShock 2 Metro Pack DLC coming "soon" for PC

It looks like PC owners will be getting a second dose of downloadable content soon for the first person shooter sequel BioShock 2. The game's official community web site reveals that the Metro Pack will be released for the PC and other platform for $9.99.

The pack will contain six new multiplayer maps to add to the map list already in place. The maps will include some levels from the game's single player campaign that have been redesigned for multiplayer. It will also add three new achievements and will also add " the Rebirth Feature for players who have reached Rank 50 - using Rebirth."

BioShock 2 Sinclair Solutions released; Microsoft offers special sale for PC version

As promised, 2K Games has released the first downloadable content for BioShock 2. We have already reported on the features in the new Sinclair Solutions Test Pack but today we've got news on a special sale for the downloadable version of the game from Microsoft's Games For Windows Live.

This is a little complicated but worth it so stick with us. Starting on Friday and ending on Monday you can download and purchase BioShock 2 via the Games For Windows Live client for $37.49, 25 percent off its normal price. But here's the kicker; if you buy the game and also purchase the Sinclair Solutions DLC pack (which costs 400 Microsoft Points) during the sale period, Microsoft will add 800 Microsoft points to your Games For Windows Live account. That's about $10 worth of points that can be used for other downloadable items. The bad news? The points will be awarded a month after the sale is over.

BioShock 2 subtitle not dropped after all?

It's one of those stories where perhaps the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. In this case both hands belong to 2K Games. A few days ago a site called Primotech quoted 2K Games Community Manager Elizabeth Tobey as saying the "Sea of Dreams" subtitle for BioShock 2, the upcoming sequel to the 2007 released action game, was being done away with.

Now Eurogamer is saying, "Hold the phone, that's not what we heard." They report that the "Sea of Dreams" subtitle is still in place, although they don't have a direct quote and only have an unnamed 2K Games spokesperson as their source. So in other words . . . oh, forget it. Does anyone really care? We are still going to call the game BioShock 2.

No more 'Sea of Dreams' subtitle for BioShock 2

You may remember that when the first teaser trailer for BioShock 2 was released, the game showed a subtitle, Sea of Dreams. Since then the upcoming 2K Marin-developed title has mostly been referred to as BioShock 2. However the recent Game Informer cover story on the first person action game sequel didn't mention the Sea of Dreams subtitle.

Perhaps publisher 2K Games knew the subtitle was extraneous. Regardless, Primotech has now confirmed via 2K Games' community manager Elizabeth Tobey that Sea of Dreams has indeed been dropped from the main title. Tobey is quoted as saying, ""You won't be seeing 'Sea of Dreams' moving forward, just 'BioShock 2.'"

BioShock 2 viral marketing begins

BioShock 2 is currently a riddle wrapped in a mystery tied into an enigma but it looks like 2K Games is beginning to launch a viral marketing campaign for their much wanted FPS sequel. Our sister site Joystiq got tipped that a web site called Somethinginthesea.com has been launched with some . . . interesting . . . images.

The images seem to track with the visuals shown in the brief BioShock 2 teaser video that was released last fall. We will leave it up to you to explore and speculate on the images and clues in the Flas-heavy site. In the meantime we need to go back and check that trailer again.

Feature: Our picks for the 10 most anticipated PC games of 2009

In the last days of 2008 we posted up an extensive multi-part preview of many of the games we though might be released for the PC in 2009 (with a few that might not make it until after the year is over). However it's one thing to post up such a preview feature. It's quite another to go through that huge list of games and pick which ones we want to play the most.

That's exactly what we did, though. Out of the over 100 game titles listed in our preview we picked our top 10 titles that we are the most excited to play in 2009. This time we picked games that we are fairly sure will be out by the end of this year although, as usual, delays can and usually do happen. So what are the games we picked and which is number 1 on our list? We are giving away our number 10 pick above.
