Right on schedule the Steam web site is offering a mid-week sale where it cuts the prices for one or more of its PC game titles from now until Thursday. This week, the price saw is used on Men of War and Men of War: Red Tide, the WWII-themed tactical RTS games from publisher 1C Company.

For the next two days you can get the original Men of War for a mere $3.74, a 75 percent discount from its normal price. That discount also applies to Men of War: Red Tide which is on sale for $6.24. Finally you can get both games in a bundle for just $8.74.

Last week screenshots from a previously unnamed game Men of War: Vietnam hit the internet. Today the game's official press release was sent out by the game's publisher 1C Company. As expected it's the latest game in the military RTS series but the first to take place outside the WWII time period.

Due out in the fourth quarter of 2010, Men of War: Vietnam features a 10 mission campaign centering on a group of elite soldiers each of which has a different personality. Look for battles on the Ho Chi Minh trail, defending bridges during the Tet offensive of 1968 and even raids into neighboring countries Laos and Cambodia.

Developer Best Way has made several WWII-themed RTS games over the years including Soldiers: Heroes of WWII, Faces of War and the Men of War series. A few weeks ago it was announced that the third game in the Men of War series, Men of War: Assault Squad, would be coming later this year but it looks like yet another new game in the series has been revealed prematurely,

Strategy Informer has posted up some screenshots for a game called Men of War: Vietnam which would seem to take the series out of WWII and into the Jungles of Southeast Asia in the 1960s-1970s. We suspect that an official announcement will be coming from publisher 1C Company in the very near future.

1C Company has been making a number of new game announcements recently. This morning the Russian publisher revealed plans for Men of War: Assault Squad, the second stand alone expansion pack for the WWII tactical RTS game from developer Best Way. Due out in the third quarter of this year, the game will have a new co-op skirmish mode as part of its feature lineup.

The skirmish mode will support up to four players in LAN and online games and feature five playable factions (Russia, Germany, USA, Commonwealth and Japan) along with different settings for each faction. Hero units, special abilities and dynamic AI will be part of the skirmish mode.

1C Company has released the first gameplay trailer from Men of War: Red Tide. This trailer shows off gameplay from the upcoming stand alone expansion pack to the WWII strategy game that was developed by Best Way. Men of War: Red Tide is scheduled to be released later this fall.

Last week we reported that Aspyr Media would distribute a number of PC games from Russian themed 1C Company in the US this spring. Now comes word that one of those games, the WWII RTS title Men of War, is letting folks participate in a multiplayer beta test for the game.

You can sign up for the beta test by posting to the game's official forums over at the Digitalmindsoft.com web site. While you can go ahead and download the multiplayer client, the developer must pick you for the beta and send you a CD key to activate it. There's no word on the specifics of the beta in terms of maps, units or gameplay modes.

If you like your WWII RTS games to be big, bold and Ukrainian, then Men of War could be the game you are looking for. The title, from developer Best Way and publisher 1C Company, launched it's official web site this week with a ton of new screenshots, trailers and info about the title.

While Men of War is scheduled to be released in Europe next month via 505 Games, no US release date has been announced.
