Supreme Ruler: Cold War announced

The Supreme Ruler series of global strategy games is getting a new entry from developer Battlegoat Studios and publisher Paradox Interactive. After dealing with modern and near-future conflicts with Supreme Ruler 2010 and Supreme Ruler 2020, the next game in the series takes some steps back in time with Supreme Ruler Cold War.

Yep, its time to fight as either the US or the USSR in this title that's set in the 1950s where the Korean War flared up, the Communist threat seemed to be everywhere and you had to learn to "Duck and Cover." You have to grow your economic base, research new technology and perhaps go into all out war to win. The sandbox mode lets the player control any nation in the post WWII era and there will be multiplayer support for up to 16 players. The title is due for release in the second quarter of 2011.

"In Supreme Ruler 2020, it is up to the player to lead a nation in a world that has fallen into anarchy. In Global Crisis, players face an even more devastating and realistic experience through a sandbox-style campaign that takes into account real-world headlines for a chilling portrayal of tomorrow's chaotic world.

Grab control of one of more than 250 territories from around the world, in a sandbox-style campaign that incorporates real-world headlines for a chilling glimpse of a world on the brink of World War III."

The game's publisher Paradox Interactive has announced that an expansion pack for the game, Global Crisis, is in the works. The new big feature in the expansion is a "whole new sandbox style campaign that paints a new and far more intricate portrayal of the world of 2020 based on many of the ominous events from recent real-world headlines." Sound ominous.

Camp Fatal1ty: A lot better than rowing classes
Kids are out for the summer so their parents will likely push them against their will to go to summer camp. All that awful clean air, sun and "activities" are dreaded by their children. If you really want your kids to be happy to go to camp this summer, why not go to "Camp Fatal1ty"? Yes, your children can learn how to shoot each other via playing Epic Games' Unreal Tournament 3.

GRID gets its tires patched
Codemasters just dropped a patch (1.01, which takes the game to version 1.1) onto the Information Super Highway for their gorgeous racing game, GRID. The patch squashes several bugs on the windshield (i.e., other player's progress/positions are now correctly updated when you enter the race results screen; track and route options no longer change when host gets back to lobby in private/LAN) and fills the tank with numerous game-play enhancements (i.e., you can now look left and right while in bonnet camera; fix for missing Force feedback on Vista).
