3D Realms online store to offer more downloadable games soon
While 3D Realms' web master Joe Siegler is no longer a member of the Duke Nukem Forever game developer (he lost his long running job along with most of the other DNF team members earlier this month) he is still posting on the game's official message boards. Today he revealed upcoming plans for a revamp of the company's online store that will have all of the company's downloadable games remastered with a DOSBox wrapper so they can be played on Windows-based machines (Siegler handled the remastering of the games before he left the company).
In addition some games offered by 3D Realms that have only been sold as mail-order CD games will now be made available for download by them as well. That includes classics like Duke Nukem 3D, Shadow Warrior and a game that hasn't been made available for several years, Balls of Steel (What? It's a pinball game..get your head out of the gutter).
There's also word that fans of Rise of the Triad will like hearing, as Siegler said they will also release a new collection of their classic FPS. He states, "It's every single stinkin thing that Apogee ever released for ROTT back in the day. It also includes a pile of user created things. Also, given my personal love for ROTT, I tossed in a few surprises for people who buy that." Pricing for the games has not been announced.
