Just Cause 2 adds free Chevalier Ice Breaker vehicle

Want to drive around your neighborhood in a pimped-out ice cream truck? Well, you can't in real life but you sure can in the open world action game sequel Just Cause 2. Today its publisher Square Enix has announced that players of the Avalanche Studios developed title can now access the Chevalier Ice Breaker vehicle for free.

Yes, you can be stylin' and profilin' in this rig which comes with some low suspension, a great paint job and as you can see a very nasty looking front bumper that looks like it could tear up your Ford Focus if you happen to be on the wrong side of it. This is likely the first of many extra content releases for the game in the coming weeks.

Review: Just Cause 2

In Just Cause 2, players are free to become agents of chaos. Sure, there's a thin plot about being a US intelligence operative named Rico Rodriguez who is tasked with unraveling a conspiracy while deposing an oppressive dictator on a Southeast Asian island nation of Panau. However, that's all set up for the true meat of the game, which is to explore the vast landscape and cause as much havoc as possible. The developers at Avalanche describe Panau as a giant playground where players are free to pull off vehicular stunts and blow up half the island while doing so.

Just Cause 2 stunt video blows a fighter jet out of the sky without using missiles

This newest Just Cause 2 stunt video is a little out there, even for a game that has a very liberal interpretation of physics. Still, it's probably the only game where you can pull this kind of stunt off. Players will have a chance to try this out and more when Just Cause 2 releases on March 23rd.

Indie Wrap-Up: June 14th - June 20th

We here at Big Download love indie games. From telling you about them, playing them, or offering downloads for them, we are all about helping lesser-known developers get their name out into the world. Each week on Saturday, we'll give you the Indie Wrap-up, a collection of all the indie news stories and features during the previous week.

It was a slow week on both the news and features fronts for the indie scene. No in-depths, no interviews, and no MODvelous Monday graced us this week, and the TIGSource Procedural Generation Competition has wrapped up. Here's looking at next week for more interesting indie news and features!
