Ghost Pirates of Vooju Island coming soon to US retail stores?

Last year, Telltale Games, made up in part of former LucasArts adventure game team members, released its five part revival of the classic Monkey Island series. Oddly enough another developer made up of former LucasArts team members, Autumn Moon Entertainment, released its own adventure game in 2009, Ghost Pirates of Voojo Island.

So why haven't you heard about this game? Because it was released in Germany, where the PC adventure game industry is still pretty strong. It was also released in the UK in February 2010. However the GameStop web site has posted up word that ValuSoft has plans to release the game to retail stores in the US on August 30.

The game itself has three main characters out to stop a demon god from coming back to life. The kicker is that not only do each of the main characters have their own special skills, they can also turn into ghosts which allows them to wall through walls, among other things, in the game. We plan to contact Autumn Moon to get more info on the title's US release.

A Vampyre Story 2 announced

After a few years of development, Autumn Moon Entertainment finally released their PC adventure game A Vampyre Story last fall. Apparently the game was successful enough that the developer has decided to announce a sequel with the appropriate title A Vampyre Story 2.

Autumn Moon has already launched a teaser web site for the game which presents some early screenshots and info for the title. As before the game stars opera singer turned vampire Mona de Laffite. In the sequel de Laffite is being held by Dr. Riga Mortus. You have to free her by controlling her pet bat Froderick through a series of point-and-click adventures. As with the first game the sequel will have development input from a number of former LucasArts adventure game creators. No release date has been announced.

Gamersgate debuts two new exclusive titles to download

The game download service Gamersgate doesn't get as much attention as other similar services but the company also has it's share of exclusives. Today Gamersgate added two new games to their line-up. The first is A Vampyre Story, the long-in-development adventure game made by Autumn Moon Entertainment, founded by former LucasArts adventure team members. The storyline has you playing the role of a young French opera star that's being held captive by a vampire. The game costs $29.99 to download. You can try out the demo right here at Big Download.

The other exclusive is for Europa Universalis Rome Vae Victis, the expansion pack to Paradox Interactive's historical strategy game. The expansion concentrates on the Roman Senate where you will have to deal with the many members and parties in order to have your goals as leader of the Roman Empire accomplished. You have to make sure the ruling party votes for issues in your favor and have them pass laws that you want to see past. The expansion will also have things like updated military AI and an overhauled interface. The expansion is only $9.99 to download.
