Easter Sunday PC game sales show up

Easter Sunday is a time of reflection for some, prayer for others and getting candy from a huge bunny for the rest of us. And for a few there are some PC game sales to find today:

Friday PC game sales are good

Good Friday is here and it's also time for some good PC game sales, most of which are just for today, although there is one sale that lasts through the weekend.

OnLive now has 50 games in PlayBack "all you can play" monthly streaming service

Since launching its PlayBack "all you can play" monthly option for $9.95 a month, the OnLive streaming PC game service has been slowly adding games to the PlayBack lineup. Today the company announced that it has added its 50th game today to the PlayBack section, the 2010 open world action game Just Cause 2. OnLive says that the game is one of the service's most popular titles and has some of OnLive's highest rated "Brag Clip" user made videos.

The PlayBack game lineup on OnLive contains a mix of older and more recent games including the recently released movie game tie in title Battle Los Angeles.

Saturday PC game sales are a steal ... almost

Saturday has some more one day PC game sales events. And some of them might be right up your alley:
  • Steam has the Grand Theft Auto Classics five game bundle (with Grand Theft Auto, Grand Theft Auto 2, Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City) on sale for today only for just $7.49).
  • Direct2Drive has Aliens vs Predator on sale for today only for just $4.95.
  • The OnLive streaming game service is hold a 30 percent sale this weekend for five games (Homefront, Red Faction Guerrilla, Luxor 2, Assassins Creed Brotherhood and Remington Super Slam Hunting Africa).

OnLive adds new social gaming features to streaming game service

The OnLive streaming game service continues to add new features and today the company announced new ways that its users can link and communicate to friends. In its latest blog post the company's VP Joe Bentley stated that the service will now let people who have a GMail account connect to anyone on your GMail contact list who also uses OnLive or send referrals to those who don't have an OnLive account. More providers besides GMail will be added "soon".

The service also now has an upgrade to a user's game list with personal stats for things like "total play time, last played and achievements earned (when available)." Another new feature generates an automatic Brag Clip if you reach a key moment in certain games. Bentley says, " ... we reached out to game developers to identify critical Achievements throughout each game" and as a result if you get that big kill that raises your stats above a certain level the Brag Clip is generated without you having to do anything.

Interview: Dave Perry talks more about Gaikai

Late last week, without much warning, the Gaikai online streaming game service finally showed to the public what it could do. The service let PC gamers try out streaming demos of several games, including some that until now didn't have PC demos at all including Spore, The Sims 3 and Dead Space 2.

With the service, led by famed game developer Dave Perry, now out in the open, Big Download cought up with him to get more info about Gaikai's future, how Perry feels about that other streaming game service OnLive and more.

OnLive to get achievements, voice chat and other upcoming features

The OnLive streaming gaming service will continues to add new features for its users, according to a panel on the service at GDC 2011 this week. According to our sister site Joystiq OnLive's VP of engineering, Joe Bentley, stated that OnLive will have support for game achievements at some point in the future.

Other upcoming features include voice chat, games invites and the ability for users to upload OnLive's cool Brag Clips feature (where you can record and save cool gameplay from your titles) to YouTube. Theses features are expected to be made available before the end of the year.

The OnLive streaming PC game service was first announced two years ago at GDC and officially launched in June 2010 just after E3 ended. Since then the service has expanded to include PCs with WiFi connections and connecting TVs to the service via the OnLive Microconsole. Earlier this year OnLive launched its PlayBack service which game people a chance to stream and play from a library of games for one monthly $9.99 fee.

Today OnLive announced that the PlayBack service has added several new games from publisher Square Enix including games in the Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Thief, Mini Ninjas and Hitman series. Also from now until March 4 a number of indie games on the OnLive service are on sale for as much as 80 percent off. It includes The Ball ($5), The Maw ($2), Trine ($5), World of Goo, ($2.50). Shatter ($2.25) Madballs in Babo: Invasion ($2.50), and AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! ($4.99).

Sunday has a few more one day PC game sales

It's time to watch hours and hours of red carpet coverage of the Academy Awards across three different TV networks. Wow. We didn't get that much pre-event coverage for the Super Bowl. In any case you might want to take a break and check out some one day PC game deals:
