We've already mentioned the fact that the sold out San Diego Comic-Con will have a bunch of game publishers exhibiting at next month's massive pop culture event. Now we have the first word on one of the game-oriented panels that will be held at Comic-Con.

On Friday, July 24, a panel on Star Wars: The Old Republic will be held with members of the BioWare development team talking about their plans for the highly anticipated MMO game. More adventure game remakes coming from LucasArts?

Fans of LucasArts' adventure game classics thought that that era was over when the publisher decided to cancel planned sequels to Sam and Max and Full Throttle. But during E3 LucasArts made those same fans happy again with word of an upcoming downloadable HD remake of Secret of Monkey Island and a new episodic Tales of Monkey Island series developed by Telltale Games.

So what if these games turn out to sell well? The Australian based web site WAToday quotes LucasArts community manager Brooks Brown as saying. "If this sells, there's no one at this company who doesn't want to do these games. It's a matter of showing that there's interest and this market is alive and get people as excited as possible about Monkey Island Special Edition to show that these things can make it." So if you guys buy this remake and the new series, maybe we can get some Grim Fandango-Full Throttle-Day of the Tentacle action going.

Star Wars: The Old Republic web site shows off the Smuggler class

Yes, you will be able to bring out your inner Han Solo in Star Wars: The Old Republic. Developer BioWare's upcoming MMO game, which was one of the big hits at E3 2009 last week, has finally revealed the smuggler class as one of the new additions they plan to have in the title.

Players will have to be both sneaky and charming if they are going to play as the smuggler but it's always good to have a handy blaster at your side while playing the class. Once again BioWare, along with its publishers EA and LucasArts, is mum on when the long awaited title will be shipping to stores.

E3 2009: The Secret of Monkey Island SE and Tales of Monkey Island Impressions

One of the biggest surprise announcements to come before the launch of this year's E3 was that LucasArts would be returning to its classic Monkey Island adventure game franchise. The first step towards bringing the beloved series back is through The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition, which is a remake of the first game using updated graphics and voice acting. Also, an episodic series called Tales of Monkey Island, developed by TellTale Games, will begin in July, bringing in new stories starring Guybrush Threepwood.

E3 2009: Star Wars: The Old Republic Impressions

Star Wars: The Old Republic quickly became one of the most highly anticipated MMO's since it was originally announced that famed developer BioWare would be joining forces with LucasArts on the project. Similar to the single player role-playing games that take place in The Old Republic, this MMO is set 3,000 years before the rise of Darth Vader, when Jedi were common. A long series of events build up to the ongoing battle rages between The Republic and The Empire, with a detailed timeline found on the official website.

E3 2009: Star Wars: The Old Republic to feature full NPC voice acting

During Electronic Arts' E3 2009 press conference today, it was revealed that Star Wars: The Old Republic, the upcoming MMO from developer BioWare and co-publisher Lucasarts, will give unique voice acting support for all of their NPC characters.

Yep that means every single character that you will encounter in the game will have his, her or its unique voice. That means a ton of dialog and lines for the entire game. Bioware believes this will help the game deliver on their plans to make the game more story-driven.. BioWare is showing off the game to the public for the first time at LucasArts' E3 booth this week.

E3 2009: LucasArts returns to Monkey Island with two PC projects

LucasArts got slammed by fans of its adventure games when the publisher decided to discontinue their adventure game line. Today LucasArts announced plans to return to one of their most popular adventure game series, Monkey Island. Our sister site Joystiq has posted up word that the the company will release Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition , a downloadable graphical revamp of the game. It will also have new voiceover tracks and a new musical score.

But that's not all. LucasArts has also teamed up with Telltale Games (made up of a number of former LucasArts adventure game creators) to release an all new five part downloadable episodic Tales of Monkey Island game. No release date for that game was announced.

Lego Indiana Jones 2 announced

The rumors seem to be true. today LucasArts announced that they are prepping a sequel to 2008's family-oriented action game Lego Indiana Jones. The sequel will once again be developed by Traveller's Tales (masters of all things in Lego games) and is due out this fall for the PC and many other platforms.

From the press release it seems like this will be a combo sequel-remake as it will feature gamers playing through the plots of the first three Indiana Jones movies just like the first game did. However Lego Indiana Jones 2 will also add the fourth (and crappiest) movie in the series, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. LucasArts is also promising a level editor for the game as well. It will be the first time that any Lego game will have level creation support.
