KARMA: Operation Barbarossa begins second closed beta test

Last December, ijji.com launched a closed beta test for its alternate history-themed first person shooter KARMA: Operation Barbarossa. It's been a long time but today ijji.com announced that the second closed beta test for the game has started today and will run through August 17.

As before the game's setting is a timeline where the Germans are still fighting a very long World War II in the present day. Players can join the German army or the resistance. The game, which was first announced at E3 in 2009, still does not have an official launch date here in the US.

KARMA: Operation Barbarossa starts closed beta testing

NHN USA's latest free-to-play first person shooter, KARMA: Operation Barbarossa, is moving into its next phase. The title has now started closed beta testing over at the Ijji.com web site. The game itself is a World War II themed shooter but not quite the same as the Call of Duty titles.

Rather, the game takes place in an alternate timeline where the Germans continued to wage war in Europe. Players can take on the role of either the Germans or the resistance armies. Oh, and did we mention the zombies that you might also have to fight off? Yep, war is complicated sometimes.

E3 2009: Karma - Operation Barbarossa announced

Yep, its another online first person shooter announcement from NHN USA. Today at E3 2009 they have revealed plans to bring Karma: Operation Bararossa to the US. The game, first developed by Korean-based companies Dragonfly, Futureport and Blueside, the title will be made available on the ijji.com site in late 2009.

This FPS takes place on an alternate world where World War II never ended and Nazi Germany has taken over all of Europe. Players will be able to switch sides between the Nazis and the Soviet Union for their online multiplayer battles. No other info on the game was revealed but again we hope to get more info later this week at E3 2009.
