Developer Isotx is an fairly interesting game dev team. The group formed at first to make mods for RTS games like Command and Conquer Generals and Command and Conquer 3. Then they made Iron Grip: The Oppresion, a Half-Life 2 mod that mixed RTS and FPS elements in a "steampunk" type of setting. Then Isotx made the leap to a full stand alone game with Iron Grip: Warlord, another RTS-FPS hybrid which used the Quake III engine as its base and served as the sequel to the Half-Life 2 mod.

Last year the company released Iron Grip: Lords of Atelia, a free-to-play browser-based strategy game set in the same fictional universe as the previous two Iron Grip titles.This week Isotx revealed plans for yet another free-to-play browser based strategy game, Iron Grip: Marauders. Due for launch later in 2010, this game has you playing an airship captain commanding armes. The game will be in full 3D (courtesy of the Unity engine) and will feature single and multiplayer modes. Beta sign ups are expected "soon"

This relatively small patch for Iron Grip: Warlords fixes some bugs and installs custom map support. The full demo includes all changes, including the Winter Offensive expansion, while the patch can be applied to either earlier versions of the demo or the full game. Those interested in the full game can purchase a CD key from the official website.

This updated demo for Iron Grip: Warlord includes the recently released Winter Offensive expansion and can be converted to the full game by purchasing a CD-key from the official website. Those who have the previous version of the demo or full game can use the patch to install the expansion. Downloading the full updated demo will not require the patch.

You can now download a playable demo of Iron Grip: Warlord, a new FPS-RTS hybrid game from indie developer Isotx. The full game, which began its life originally as a Half-Life 2 mod, is now a full stand alone game using a modifed version of the Quake III Arena engine, can be unlocked from the demo at the game's official web site for $24.95.
