FIFA Manager 11 trailers get into the details of football management

We're going to be completely honest: we have no clue what these trailers are about. Sure, we know they are about FIFA Manager 11, a football (soccer) club management simulator, but that's about as much as we understand. It goes into such crazy detail on the new features, tweaks, and additions to the long-running management series that we are completely lost. However, we're sure that those players who are into the series will definitely get a lot of important info from these trailers. The first, above, talks about the Live Season feature. The three after the break talk about, respectively: the transfer market, the line-up and tactics screen, and the improvements to the online mode.

The playable demo for FIFA Manager 11 allows six months of play with the choice of England, France, Poland, Spain, or Germany. Save games from the demo may be compatible with the full game when it releases.

To minimize the file size, the demo has only generic jerseys, a limited number of stadiums, and no music, sound effects or commentators. Only the "Club Selection" play mode is available. In Online Mode, the World Cup Mode, the match prognosis and other full game elements are unavailable in addition to simulation and various 3D areas like the stadium editor or the team control feature.

EA Sports head sees future of FIFA game franchise as online only

EA Sports pretty much quit releasing its line-up of games for the PC but one big exception has been the games in the FIFA franchise. In soccer-hungry Europe, the PC version is still highly popular. However the head of EA Sports sees a time where the retail release of the game could be a thing of the past.

In a chat with MCV, EA Sports head man Peter Moore says that he still believes that FIFA games will still be sold via disks in stores five years from now. However he adds, "I think there will come a time when FIFA is less a disc that you wait for in late September/early October, and more something that we provide 365 days a year." FIFA 11, the latest game in the series, has done very well so far with 2.6 million copies sold.

FIFA 11 trailers show off penalty kicks and a full game

It's time for more details for FIFA 11. As always, these are coming in the form of trailers, with the two latest being a full game and the explanation of the penalty kicks. Penalty kicks (above) seem to be a lot more complicated than they have been in previous games. They take into account handling, game difficulty, composure, speed, and a ton of other variables, with the result being either a goal or otherwise. Thankfully, the trailer goes into deep detail about making the best of your penalty kicks. The full game trailer (after the break) is much like the Gary Aaron trailer: it shows off a game from start to finish, and in doing so showcases new features to FIFA 11.

FIFA trailer shows a game from start to finish

Now this is unusual, but not unwelcome. FIFA 11's new trailer shows a full game, from start to finish, uncompressed. That's almost unheard of, but it's definitely great for soccer (football) fans. The game ends at a reasonable score, players and referees acted as one might expect in soccer, and the shows all the mechanics talked about in previous trailers. In other words, this is a summation of all that is FIFA 11, and if you want to know exactly what the game is about, watch this trailer.

FIFA trailers explain the rules of the field

Those looking forward to FIFA 11 have even more to look forward to, thanks to this pair of trailers from EA Sports. While the normal trailer revealed the new features, these go in-depth to explain them. The first, above, talks about the goalkeeper mode. This is a completely different mode from the regular game, as you are playing a goalkeeper instead of any other player. There's dives, slides, punches, and all sorts of other goodies that look to make it unique. The trailer below talks about and demonstrates the effect stamina and fatigue have on players running the field. Both offer some great insights into FIFA 11, which is a nice change of pace from standard trailers.

FIFA 2011 gets down and dirty on the field

There's not much we can say about FIFA 2011, so we'll let this trailer speak for itself. mostly. However, for fans of the series, there are a few things of interest. Player personalities are in, and will apparently affect gameplay. other important additions or features: 11-n-11 multiplayer, multiplayer-controlled celebrations, goalie controlling, and pro passing. We aren't entirely sure what all of those things are, but we're sure they'll please fans!

FIFA 11 getting PC optimization features

EA Sports' only remaining PC retail product, FIFA 11, will be getting a version for the PC that's been especially optimized for the platform, according to what the publisher announced today. The pro soccer game is due for release this October and the PC version's graphics engine has been in development for the past two years.

What does that mean, exactly? EA Sports says the PC port of FIFA 11 will allow players to experience the game's "true 360 degree dribbling system" for a more precise control of the ball on the field. PC players will also be able to see some improvements in "collision sharing, creating a varied, less predictable, and extended fight for possession between players." The big question: Will all of this make US players care more about the game?
