Spider-Man Edge of Time trailer has us seeing double

Last week Spider-Man Edge of Time was finally revealed and today publisher Activision gave us the first look at gameplay from the latest game staring everyone's favorite neighborhood web-slinger. In fact you will get two Spider-Men for the price of one.

The game from developer Beenox will feature the regular but still great modern day Amazing Spider-Man along with the more futuristic and exotic Spider-Man 2099. Oh, and there's some time traveling involved as well. We will see how both super heroes get out of this latest problem when Spider-Man Edge of Time swings and crawls its way to stores this fall.

Next Spider-Man game reveal coming at Wonder Con

2010's release of Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions got solid reviews and sales (even though the PC version of Beenox's action game turned out to be a Wal Mart exclusive). Now there's word that the next game starring Marvel Comics' wall-crawling super hero from publisher Activision will get a reveal very soon.

In fact it could come as early as next Saturday. The annual Wonder Con event in San Francisco has revealed its programming schedule and on April 2 it states there will be a Spider-Man games panel where attendees will be the "first to check out exclusive details, screenshots and videos of the next Spider-Man game." The panel for the game will include acclaimed comic book writer Peter David which seems to be a big hint that he will be involved in some way.

Beenox to make more Spider-Man games for Activision

Activision's Spider-Man game license has been a solid one for the game publisher and last year's release of Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions from Activision's in-house game developer Beenox got a lot of good critical notices (the PC version was released as a Wal-Mart exclusive last November).

Activision was apparently happy enough with Beenox's work on the game that today they announced that Beenox will now be the primary developer for Activision's upcoming and unannounced games featuring Marvel Comics' favorite web slinger. There's no word yet on what the next Spider-man game will be about nor when will it be released.

Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions PC port is Walmart exclusive for Thanksgiving release

Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions' PC version now has a set release date and, at it happens, an exclusive retailer at least here in the US. The game's official Facebook page has revealed that Walmart will be the only place gamers can get the PC version of the recent super hero action game from developer Beenox and publisher Activision. The game will be made available for Thankgiving weekend here in the US.

The Facebook page also states that the PC version will be released on November 24 in Asia and Australia and on November 26 in Europe. There's no word if Activision plans to offer the game via digital download as well.

Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions for PC coming later this year

Earlier this week publisher Activision released the action game Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions for various consoles. However the publisher also sneaked in a notice in the official press release that the title will be coming to the PC as well. Big Download emailed Activision's PR rep who confirmed that the title will be released for the PC sometime later this this year.

The console versions from developer Beenox have been getting some solid reviews this week as gamers check out not one but four different versions of Marvel Comics' web slinger: the classic costume Amazing version, the black suited Ultimate version, the futuristic 2099 version and the pulp inspired Noir version.

New Spider-Man game details coming for Wonder Con

While not as well known as the San Diego Comic-Con, the folks behind that July event are also the ones behind Wonder Con. This year's show in San Fransisco is being held next weekend and the show's event schedule reveals that one of their panels will be devoted to the newly revealed Spider-Man game from Activision.

The panel for Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions promises to reveal a lot about the still mysterious game title from developer Beenox. The game itself is supposed to contain "unique, unexpected worlds Spider-Man will adventure through" and the Wonder Con panel will exclusively reveal new videos, screenshots and two new villains that will take part in the game. In addition to Marvel and Activision reps the panel will also have the voice of Spider-Man himself, actor Christopher Daniel Barnes (perhaps best known as Peter Brady in those goofy Brady Bunch feature films).

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen game web site launches

We love Transformers. We love the action figures. We love the animated series. We REALLY love the animated movie. We love the many comic book incarnations and we love the first live action movie. The game based on said movie? Not so much love there. So when we heard that publisher Activision was trying once again with a game adaptation of the movie sequel, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, we figured, "Eh . . . pass."

But we are somewhat encouraged by the news that the game version will have multiplayer, something that Activision's first Transformers movie game didn't have. The publisher just launched the game's official web site with even more info and a teaser movie from the sequel. You can even select the site's specific Transformers "theme" and update to the site's content are coming soon. The PC version is being developed by Beenox and will ship to stores alongside all the rest of the console versions this June.

Quantum of Solace PC demo this week?

It's got a crappy title but we are stil looking forward to seeing the next James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace, in theaters next month. However, fan site Commanderbond.net reports that we will get a sneak peak at the game version from publisher Activision sometime this week.

The site states that Activision plans to release a PC game demo of Quantum of Solace on Thursday, Oct 9. The site does not mention where this info came from but hopefully they are correct in their assumption. The PC port, developed by Beenox and based on the Treyarch design, will be released to stores in early November ahead of the film's release to theaters on Nov. 14.

Quantum of Solace voice cast revealed along with new screenshots

It's not exactly a shock but Activision announced today that actor Daniel Craig will not just lend his likeness to the upcoming James Bond shooter Quantum of Solace but will also handle the voice duties for his 007 character as well. Believe it or not, Craig is an admitted gamer in his spare time (he apparently loves to play Halo) so this should be right up his alley.

In addition, other members of the movie cast, including Judi Dench as M, Mathieu Amalric as the main villain Dominic Greene and actress Olga Kurylenko as Camille, will lend their voice and likeness to the game version. Also, since the game also has sequences from Craig's first 007 movie Casino Royale, actors from that movie like Eva Green as Vesper Lynd and Mads Mikkelsen as Le Chiffre will have their voice and likenesses in the title as well.

New screenshots from Quantum of Solace have also been released. While the main game is being developed by Treyarch the PC port will be handled by Beenox. The game should be released around the same time as the movie this fall.
