Last year publisher Atari announced plans to release Dungeons and Dragons Daggerdale, a downloadable RPG that's due out later this spring. Now Eurogamer is reporting that the game is being designed as the first title in a possible trilogy of games.

The game itself goes up to the first 10 levels of the pen-and-paper 4th Edition of the D&D role playing game franchise and any continuations would move to to level 20 for the second game and level 30 for the third game. According to Zandro Chan of the game's developer Bedlam Games, " .. you will be able to carry characters forward" through the final two parts. However there's no guarantee that a trilogy of games will in fact be made with Chan saying that the team will "have to see how things pan out"

As promised earlier this fall, Cryptic Studios has now released a major update, Season 3, for its sci-fi MMO Star Trek Online. The big new edition in this update is the launch of the beta version of Foundry, the game's mission creator. Players will now be able to create their own Star Trek adventures and share then with all of the other game's players.

Other additions in Season Three include being able to go back and replay earlier missions (and gain some new rewards in some cases), the ability to install Borg-based tech on your in-game ships, a revamp of the game's Sector Space and more.

This week Atari announced some pre-order bonuses and the release date for the upcoming open world driving game Test Drive Unlimited 2. But if you thought that would be all the news about the game from developer Eden Studios, think again. Today the game's official web site started taking sign-ups for the game's upcoming beta test.

You do need to be a member of Atari.com in order to register for the beta and there's also no word on when it will begin or what content will be included. However it looks like the beta will only have a limited amount of slots open so if you want in on this, you had better move fast. As fast as a Ferrari (Get it?).

If you love driving exotic cars, fine clothes and competing online, then Test Drive Unlimited 2 might be the game for you. The upcoming sequel to Test Drive Unlimited to push the envelope of open world racing even further and integrate a seamless, persistent, online multiplayer mode. The game is currently expected to release in the fall.

If you blinked, you missed it. Actually even if you didn't blink you likely missed the one frame message in the new trailer announcing the fantasy RPG The Witcher 2. You can see the message above if you don't care to comb through lots and lots of video to see it for yourself.

What does it say? Basically it's all about hype for the upcoming CD Projekt-developed game. It's also a thank you letter to the original game's hardcore fans. The Witcher sold over 1.5 million copies on the PC and the dev team wanted to push themselves to make the sequel look even better. They were also honest about the reception the original game got and plan to put lots of improvements for the second title. Check out the trailer to see the full message if you can.

It's a bit of a last minute announcement but Star Trek Online's fan Facebook page has alerted its fans to a Tumblelog post that gives info on some midnight store openings at GameStop tonight. A few of those stores will begin selling copies of Cryptic Studios' long awaited MMO game. The list is pretty small so we will have it after the jump.

If you are lucky enough to have pre-ordered your copy of the game at one of the below locations you can pick it up at midnight tonight. You will also be eligible to win some prizes including those collectible Del Taco Star Trek Online cups, a digital copy of all the Star Trek comic books ever released and more.
