Ubisoft to provide over 40 PC games via Steam

Valve's Steam digital distribution service for games has become more and more popular with publishers eager to reach its millions of users. Recently Ubisoft decided to join the fray by announcing that it will provide Steam owners with over 40 PC games in the company's back catalog (the most by any other single publisher on Steam) as well as upcoming titles like this week's release of the PC version of Assassin's Creed and this fall's release of Far Cry 2.

You can pre-purchase Assassin's Creed via Steam right now before its release on April 9; two of Ubisoft's older titles, the first Splinter Cell game and the original Far Cry, are already available for purchase and download via Steam. In the future expect more titles from their Tom Clancy brand to be made available via Steam along with games from the Heroes of Might and Magic franchise and titles from the IL-2 Sturmovik military flying sim series.
